{{{kaimarni}}} Hope you feel better.

It's called "disappointment". My T gave me homework to spend a week between sessions looking at that word, right after she'd given me "humiliation"! I got humiliated during the humiliation week so when she said to look at disappointment, I immediately asked, "Does this mean I have to spend all week being disappointed?!" We both laughed but also neither of us had quite thought of it that way so were both startled. I did get disappointed since I was looking for it, a couple times by my husband. But I learned soooooo much because of it!

Where does the thought/feeling that we can expect our T's to be there every week come from? We think in terms of whether we'll go to therapy this week or not, etc. but how about T's? They usually always show up and we expect them to. Where does that expectation come from? Is it only a hope or do we see it as a "right" (because we pay them to) or what?

omg! the SAME thing happened with me today!!!! i was in school and i felt my phone vibrating in class, and i saw it was T. i got so excited and anxious for break so i could listen to her voicemail. last time she called me in school she asked me to come early, to just to there right from school so we could get started early. This time, she cancelled. i am sooo disapointed. as a matter of fact, i would normally be leaving RIGHT now. i know what you mean, why does it have to make me like this. she can't help that she's sick. she even sounded sick. but why why why can't i stop being selfish and just thinking of myself and how badly IIIII needed to see her? ugh, i feel ya kaimarni

At my appointment time two weeks ago, it turned out that my T had touble booked, and I got bumped because the other person lives kinda far away. That sucked.

omg krazibean and christina I guess today is just a sucky therapist canceling kind of day. ((((everyone)))) thank you all...i guess therapist cancelling is just something we all gotta deal with at some point...and perna it definitely is disappointment. I'm not sure if I expect her to be there every week because my mind understands that of course she will have to cancel from time to time...I think the disappointment comes from longing for the support that I would have gotten had the session not been cancelled...yeah and that makes me feel selfish

Must be the day for it - mine canceled too. THe times were all messed up. She thought i'd be there friday and had to cancel to teach a class. but it was really tomorrow night and she's still not available and that time slot "shouldn't have been given" because she's never available then.

so no t for me this week either.
