Couch 240: The Vanadis Couch

I went to urgent care tonight. I was in severe chest pain and stomach pain. The doctor thinks I have GERD AND my gallstone was bothering me. She based that on where the pain was and when I went to the hospital 2 weeks ago for the same pain. Not fun! I can't see L in person today. I just don't know if what they gave me will hold over until later today. I'm afraid to eat anything and set it off. I really needed to be with L today too.

I pulled a typical Artie move this morning. Coming out of the bedroom in the dark of course I didn't see the cat and stepped on his tail, when he yiped I jumped to get off of it and landed on the corner of his pillow, which slid so I fell, and my elbow went through the wall before I landed on my hip on the hard tile floor (because the pillow had slipped). I'm okay, just bruised/scraped and sore, and Stormy is fine too. H heard nothing of course, asleep with his good ear on the pillow. So when I hear him getting up and around I'm gonna go in there and say "Honey, I broke the house." haha

Gentle hugs, Scarlet. I'm sorry you were in so much pain. Could you tentatively plan to see L in person and see how you're feeling when it's time to leave? Then switch to virtual if you're in too much pain?

And are they going to do any more tests on you to see if it's a gallstone? Any meds for the GERD?

They offered VTO (voluntary time off) at work. I'm on my lunch break, but I am using my laptop in my office right in front of my work screens haha so I saw the email pop in. So naturally I am VTO'ing and am now done for the day. Yay! They let us use vacation time when we VTO so we can still get paid for the time so that's what I'll do.

Hope your hip feels better soon Artie! A lot of people I know have fallen lately and been pretty banged up. Must be something in the air.

I was clicking around on that 64 word wordle thing and found a calendar where you can do past ones. I might need to figure out to hook my huge work monitor up to my laptop and then work the thing using that, since there are so many grids. I'm gonna go try another one now.

Ugh. Had to call in sick yesterday and today at work due to nausea/vomiting, etc. Doctor thinks it's from Ozempic injection - she said to decrease the dose. Husband thinks I'm going to get fired for calling in (it's the second Monday/Tuesday combo I've missed in 6 weeks). I have a doctor's note excusing me and the store manager has called out a bunch too so I'm not all that worried.

Thanks. Just started doing this one. I now do my daily puzzles: wordle, Quordle, octordle, Byrdle (choral focused), duotrigordle, Worldle (geography), Kilordle, and Sexaginta-quattuordle. I also do a cryptogram app that I enjoy. I’m a bit word puzzle obsessed. 😂

The Hurricane is expected to make landfall right where my old Therapist now lives, hopefully nothing major will happen with her.

I can barely manage daily Wordle, Flagle, Worldle, Quordle, and the NYT spelling bee.

My mom and I share a NY Times account, and she keeps doing the Wordle before me!

I got the wordle in 2 guesses today - my best showing yet though it was pure luck. I'll have to try some of these other puzzles mentioned

Sorry you stepped on the cat and hurt yourself Artie, but glad you are both ok, and glad you have some time to rest. All these word puzzles are giving me a headache just with the names! I'm away on my holiday at the moment, having a great time, but I woke up at 3.15am and my friend is snoring so loudly I can't get back to sleep! I'd have been ok if I hadn't woke up I think, got my music on now and hoping I can get a bit more before the alarm goes off in an hour and a quarter!!

Some animals not being able to vomit is actually a big issue for them. It means that poison can only leave their body after being processed. It's not a pleasant thing at the time, but actually quite useful in an evolutionary sense.

Rabbits also have this issue for example.

Horrible dream last night and now all this stuff is coming up for me that I thought was resolved already. I think I'm going to take the afternoon off work today even though I'm very behind on a project right now that I'm totally procrastinating on.
