I'm not cooking today actually, it's my dad's birthday he would have been 90 this year. To honor his birthday my family always goes to taco bell because he loved it so much when he alive, and we send selfies to each other eating there in a group text, in our respective cities. so h and i got a late lunch there today.

Seeing Dr. T tomorrow instead of Monday (he works Sundays). Will reply to those that PMed me soon. Not feeling so good about things with him, hoping tomorrow might help? I kinda wish I could just switch to R, but don't think that's a viable option for assorted reasons.

I am terrible at dates. I know the month of my mother's birth and death and can narrow the exact dates down to about a week. I only remember the birthdays of my sibling and my remaining parent because I use those as passwords. The idea of remembering anyone from 2nd grade - let alone a birth date- is totally foreign to me

Which can lead to pneumonia, I suppose, but calling it “pre-pneumonia”…

I had pneumonia once - the great part was I could sleep whenever I wanted. I mean sure, I wasn't getting any oxygen and my lips were blue - but the sleep was something -I have never in my entire life (not even as an infant if the stories be true) just closed my eyes and slept. In fact, I don't want a pneumonia vaccine when I am very old (as opposed to the regular old I am now). I think being wafted away by pneumonia would be the next best thing to just poofo -gone.

I have a major assignment due next week and I am already getting requests for extensions along with the accompanying missing grandparent. Assignment time is granny-ageddon

It sounds like a lovely tradition to honour your dad's birthday and adds a meaningful touch to the celebration.

I hope you did enjoy your meal.

We have granny-ageddon going on because an assignment is due next week. And students planning to be late a week ahead of time.

I remember pneumonia fondly. I could sleep anytime I wanted. I am not going to get the vaccine when I get really old (as opposed to the old I am now).

I don't remember specific other children from elementary school or middle school or jr high. I thought the nuns, teachers, and other children were nuts and I never could figure out what any of them were doing. Reading was my favorite thing to do and that was fairly solitary

Granny-ageddon! That's a good word! Poor grannies!

Spring break is the last week of feb here.

We had a very tight elementary school grade cohort. The nuns had suggested the top 3 kids skip a grade, but the next class seemed cold to me, unconnected. Then when we had our all-school reunion, only one girl showed up from that grade! while almost all the girls and many of the boys showed up from our class. My favorite part was when the shortest boy in our class appeared (late, he came on break from his job as a manager at jc penney) - he got a standing ovation as he came down the stairs! Somebody noted that the girls separated into the goodies and the baddies even then. We were more like family than schoolmates. There was something about the class of 1970 in our town.

That sounds sweet Una. I'm glad you had a close group of friends as kids to be there with you.

Another elementary school in the area (we all met then in the same high school) of the same year is also very close. And our junior high to high school facebook group is just the sweetest. For all the rotten braggy things people say about facebook - man, not in Our Town!

So that was a weepy, panicky session with Dr. T. Left the office once to splash water on my face in the bathroom (he let me use the staff one, as he said no one else was in the office suite today). It was a bit awkward because they only had cloth rather than paper towels. So I was calling out to him (his office is across from it), asking if it was still OK to use one of those for my face. He said it was fine. To just throw it in the wicker basket when I'm done.

Then, later, I wanted some cold water to drink, so he walked me out to the waiting room (the door to the offices autolocks, so he'd have had to let me back in. Then, I needed him to explain how to use their new water cooler.

I suppose he definitely earned his pay today! I did feel better after the session, even though it was difficult. I think I needed to get some stuff out--emotions and thoughts, including some stuff about his backup, R and feeling some attachment to her). And I felt cared for by him--he was very gentle in how he was talking to me, trying to find out what I needed, how he could help. I only wish he could be that way more often...

i recently reconnected with a grade school friend on facebook. she still lives in the same town we grew up in, just down the street from her childhood home where we had many sleepovers in a tent in her backyard. we chatted online for hours that evening! it was great. I think we met in like 2nd grade maybe?? and she remembered the pool my dad built out of wood and this huge, thick sheets of industrial plastic he got from work, that had a wooden deck that slid over to close it. she came over to hang out in the pool a lot in the summers too. we lost touch after high school. i found an oooold polaroid pic from my one sleepover birthday party i was allowed to have in like 6th grade, with me and my friends including her in the pool. what a blast from the past. my dad got mad about the other girls putting bras (probably training ones at that age) in the freezer (haha!) and so my sisters were never allowed to have slumber parties. The only one that was ever allowed in our house ruined it for everyone sigh. why did i just remember that?

i'm on break right now, and don't feel like working today. i only have to process 2 more message to meet the minimum i try to work every day. i figured out a way to focus and not get distracted so I can research & answer 60-65 messages a day - i play these true crime interrogation videos on my phone while I'm working. I don't really pay attention to them, but the noise serves as a blockade when my thoughts try to wander haha. so i stay focused on work. Kinda like how in high school i could study while listening to music. Now when I try to work to music that doesn't work anymore because i always start singing along then i can't work haha!

ok i'll shut up and go back to work now byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee heehehehehehehehe

I just made a gallon of yogurt. I was only trying to make a quart but my insane cat (he was most displeased about our bout of thundersnow on Fri) got right behind me as I was measuring out the powdered milk and I got too much in the water when I stepped on him (we both yelled and I almost fell and he ran outside). And he doesn't even eat yogurt (I tried - old ex cat liked it). I am going to get a chance to experiment with frozen yogurt I suppose.

I like using powdered milk as it is easier to keep around since we don't actually consume it other than for cooking or making yogurt. I think it is awful to smell or drink but for some reason you can't tell it is powdered in yogurt.
