Perhaps her anxiety and fear means that she needs to repeat herself and revisit the subject in order for her to reassure herself or otherwise sort through a stressful situation. She obviously trusts you enough to talk to you about it, there is not necessarily anything specific she needs to hear from you. Being able to listen and having time for her concern is enough.

We're not talking about it, though.
She's already told me what's going on in an arse-about-face way yesterday.

I didn't need her to explain further.

But maybe she needs to talk about it again in whatever form it comes, that what I meant. I think I misunderstood your initial post though. I thought you were struggling with what kind of understanding things to say to her rather than wanting her to shut up with the repetition! Maybe temporarily block her if you feel awkward about asking her to stop talking about the situation? You can explain why you were out of touch at a later date if it's unusual for you to not have daily contact.
Thanks for this!

I heard on the sunday morning tv news shows that there is a threat here in the USA because some people got in, but the US Representative talking about it seemed to want to "blame the current admins policies" rather than tell people to go buy their bread and milk and hunker down. So idk. I just cant get excited anymore. Until they come knocking on my door.

I’m looking at my floors and should probably mop them but I’m lazy. I had plans to go to Torrid today in a little while to maybe find some new clothes. The last Torrid I was in was rather small and they had a lot of stuff everywhere and it became overwhelming. I wonder if the other location not too far from me would be less cluttered.

It is 100+ degrees here today with humidity like a rainforest and I am in my living room in a hoodie because of my dog. I would retire except I have to make enough to keep him cool in the summer time

That much heat and humidity is just miserable. I’m not looking forward to the much higher electric bills this summer, either.

Next door are having a party for the Euro football game. England Vs Serbia. I’m personally hoping England will lose, so we don’t have to put up with all the “football’s coming home” angst until Spain inevitably wins.

I recently bought my cat a cooling mat from Amazon. Last heatwave we would just wet her fur a bit.

Saw people online making cat boxes with those reusable ice packs.

So my sister got our Mom one of those bird feeder live cam things. She gave me the info, so I downloaded the app and I can log onto it and watch birds in her yard. It's pretty cool. I'm going to get one for my backyard just like it, so they can log on and watch Arizona birds, while I log on to theirs and watch Missouri birds! So far I've seen a male cardinal and a couple of tufted titmouses. Or is the plural titmice?

although i have to say it makes me feel a little homesick in a way... my sister lives next door to our mom, so i can see my sister's house from the live cam. i told her to come outside and wave toward the bird feeder sometimes in case i'm watching. haha. I miss both of my sisters.

Do you ever get Squirrels too? 🐿️

You could also get a bird house and put a camera in there as well, to give them some protection too.

Do you have plans to visit ?

The bird feeder camera sounds cool, Art! I should get one for my garden.

I use the Merlin app frequently to identify all of the bird songs in the forest.

I got one of those for my mother. She loves it. I got the Bird Buddy one. A bit pricey, but worth it for the enjoyment she gets out of it. She had to put chicken wire around hers to keep the doves out because they were keeping the smaller birds away. The pic with one perched on the chicken wire looking at the bird seed like "Why???" was amusing, yet sad. I told her she needs to put up something just for the poor hungry doves.
Thanks for this!

Day 15 of Weight Watchers. They have made it easier to be successful, i believe. Used to be, if you overate one day, the app kinda encouraged you to REALLY blow the day, you could always catch up tomorrow . Now, the app gives you more leeway for each day, as long as you dont really blow the whole week. Before, for want of a nail, the day's battle would be lost. Not anymore.

I was getting overheated after breakfast, so i took a shower. So nice with this short haircut, omg!!! Turned off the AC and turned on my little battery fan while i watch soaps. Cool enough! Now i just want to survive the heat this week.

I feel like the universe is doing some weird **** right now... my dog started having pain walking a few months ago, I thought to myself (and told my parents as much) "sure would check that out right now, T literally just had that to turn out to be cancer". Parents thought it was just age/arthritis. Doggo starts to not be able to go up stairs anymore, mom finally gets an mri scheduled, it's a tumor. Wtf is going on?

Edit: also I have no idea how to talk to T about this, this just sounds too close to home. Probably gonna talk to new T about it, he's really nice, though almost too soft.

I am sorry to hear about your dog. This happened to a friend of mine and her dog a few years ago - he was mostly fine but a little limping that they thought was arthritis.
