In a move that will surprise no one except me, I asked H today whether we could reinstate the weekly calls.

I know I need to work on feeling safe with R again, but I don't know how.
I don't have to work at feeling safe with H.

Couch Workout Club day 53

Some light yoga in an attempt to ease my stomach's response to the events of the last few days.

I am watching my school do idiotic things while the students become less and less resilient. I think that the over eager attempts to be supportive on the part of do gooders is often more encouraging people to stay stuck in their issues/victimhood than it helps.

I sat through a talk today by our Vice President for Student Services and it was all about wellness and not stressing the kids out.

I just grade during that crap from admin.
I wonder if we have one of those type vps - the law school is shielded a little from the absolute absurdness of what the undergrad people deal with

This was supposed to go here. I shouldn't try to post in the morning. I am not a morning person

We are now in a wet weather pattern as fall pushes summer out of the way. This makes all the animals cross and with the old, arthritic dogs - a fun time to be had trying to get them out to do their business. We all got wet 3 times yesterday and my dogs are decidedly not water dogs. One pushes me into puddles so he doesn't have to walk through them

I think the reality of my therapy with P ending is sinking in now. I'm dealing with anxiety and feeling depressed. His office lease is ending Dec 31 and he has to be in his new place in next state over by Jan 13. I don't want to do this. This is going to feel like a huge loss.

Thanks for your advice, guys, I'll give them that government website. They are in their early 60s, they have looked into medicaid, not sure what was up with that, I think they are a bit too young or smth.

I too wouldn't want to live in the US. I actually gave back my green card because I didn't want to live there. My mom, however, grew up in the US and was forced to move when she was 9. Ever since she has had the dream to go back, and since she won the green card lottery she wants to even more. I'm not gonna stand in her way on that, even if I think it's a stupid idea.

Hugs, NP. I'm sorry this is happening to you. And I'm sure his having an actual date makes it all too real. I'm sure I'd be feeling similarly.

Walked around a local garden centre and a few shops with my favourite support worker.

Thanks, LT!

It's good to have something to aim for, even on the toughest days.
Lately I've been battling the urge to go and lie down after lunch.

My support worker suggested today that I might be 'mentally exhausted'.
That resonates, with Everything that is going on.

I hope life is treating you well?

Lost

Running late/procrastination may have paid off for me today. I meant to leave the house at 10:30 to get a prescription at CVS (trying to beat lunch rush at drive-thru), but didn't end up leaving till about 10:50. On the way there, I wondered why cars were all randomly stopping and changing lanes. Then, I realized a light pole had fallen across the right two lanes (I was in the left one, but have just as easily been in the center lane). It must have happened not long before, as there were no police on the scene, and a few cars pulled off on the shoulder (I assume one of them hit the light pole). I could have potentially been in the middle lane when the lightpole fell and been hit, had I left a bit earlier. Just a bit nerve-wracking to think. (Note that it didn't look like anyone was injured, at least by the pole, and a police car was on the scene when I was heading home.)

So sorry, LT.

I'm thankful you were not involved, but it's still a scary thing to witness.
It's a relief to hear that it seems nobody was hurt.

Quite scary to think something like that could happen.

Take care,

Lost

Thanks, Lost. Things like that just remind me of how random stuff can be. Well, watching the show "9-1-1" lately probably doesn't help either.

I did end up using something that happened with two people in that show as an analogy today with Dr. T. Which involved going into a brief explanation of the backstory of the characters. The point was how things can have changed in a relationship, but it doesn't mean it's not worth continuing. Just because it will never be the same.
Thanks for this!
