You and ex hankster will be roomies in retirement and she will keep you entertained. Maybe you two can collaborate on the world’s first Mandarin-Aramaic dictionary so you can communicate.

Does cream cheese actually have a flavor or is it more of a texture thing? I mean the non-flavoured ones. Am i missing my "bland" tastebud?

Hi Una,

I think cream cheese is more 'tang' than flavour.
If it had a flavour, then I don't think cream cheese frosting would be quite as popular as it is.

Just my thoughts, though.

To me it definitely does have a flavor, but take that with a grain of salt, my palet seems to be overdevelopped. It tastes similar to cream but less intense, with a hint of acidity, less than sour cream.

I feel proud of my first ever class that I'm grading. Just finished grading their first exam, it wasn't overly easy and most of them have a grade above B. I just feel bad for one girl, she's the only non-passing grade with an F. Since most others did well and the ones that struggled had the same kinds of misunderstandings, I'm almost sure it's not me who's at fault here, but it still feels bad.

I agree with you on the subject of cream cheese, CNS.

The acidity you describe is what I'm referring to with 'tang'.

I'm glad to hear that the majority of your students did well - I hope that the student who was less successful can access some support.

I'm not sure what subject you're teaching though - I think you've mentioned it, but maybe I've not retained it.

Dont even get me started on cream! Its like u have negative taste buds for cream. Its like dissolving paper in my coffee! I like sour cream okay, i love plain or flavored yogurts, i love ricotta. I love Coffee-Mate! Whipped cream is distracting to me tho - its like, am i eating savory pumpkin pie, or fluffy sweet cream, i dont know! Oh well, i dont need more calories.

Last night i dreamt i took a bath at Jeff Daniels house and there was a huge and very friendly and talkative octopus in the tub with me! I kept screaming for my brother to come up and remove it.

One of us would be trying to smother the other before the first bingo game was finished

In talking about creamy dairy stuff, my H likes Greek yogurt and will eat it with some fruit and granola. But he hates sour cream. I like sour cream as a topping or dip (like for a quesadilla or baked potato), but hate Greek yogurt. They seem very similar to me, but it might be more about how they're used for me.

And I think cream cheese has a bit of a taste, but it's very mild.

Now I want an everything bagel with cream cheese... Well, I am placing a grocery order later, so I can have one tomorrow, I guess!

Yeah i dont like how yogurt will fall apart on you if you top something warm with it. Im like hey do your job! I need it to be more gluey like sour cream. My mother would only eat the yoplait whips or really gelled yogurts. She called regular yogurt "mushy" ie the lack of cohesiveness. She was very intolerant of lactose! We NEVER had cream cheese in our house. I would get sent to the corner store on holidays to buy a stick of butter, as the half stick in the fridge had been there since the LAST holiday and now smelled of salami.

I teach high school physics! I've already offered her (or rather the whole class, but just because of her) to contact me if they want an additional project to raise their grade.

I use Merlin often. I hear so many birds here in the forest. A barred owl came and perched on my garden fence post the other day while I was in the garden.

Ugh.
Art t is lovely and nice but I think I need to switch gears, so I decided to take a break and find an EMDR therapist. I hate looking for a new therapist. I've sent dozens of emails and only three people got back- one to say they have no availability, one was quite terse, and one with whom I had a lovely conversation and have an appointment with in a couple weeks.
I miss my old t.

I hope the one you had the good conversation with works out!

And I agree that it's difficult looking for T's. I've experienced the same in the past. Like, at least reply to the email, even if you aren't taking new clients. Dr. T has said he always replies and will give referrals if he doesn't have openings or thinks he's a poor fit. When I emailed him ages ago, he replied almost immediately, which is part of how he got chosen.

I hate how people can't respect whenever I finally manage to set some boundary. Friend of mine is planning a trip with 7 other people and me, to Japan, for three weeks. At some point I said I might go if I still felt like it in a few months, too much going on mentally to sign up for that at the time. Now I'm like "I really don't want to come and I'd rather work at my job that I'd have to get special absence from" and immediately it has to start with convincing strategies. I get how it feels on the other side, but come on, I rarely ever say no to something.

I'm sorry they're giving you a hard time over this, CNS.

Needing to take a special absence from a job that you have just started seems like a valid reason to skip the holiday to me.

I hope you can find a way to help them understand, even if it is as simple as 'Hey, X - things have changed since we first talked about this because of my job...'

May they be able to respect your wishes about this.

Hope you have a gentle day.

Take care,

Lost

That's a really long trip and I imagine a big financial investment. I think your friend should be mindful of that and understanding if you don't want to go or need to decide later. Friends should be able to accept "This isn't going to work for me. Hope you have a great time!" Then maybe do a shorter trip with them at another time. Hope they're more understanding.
