I think I need to get some therapy sooner rather then later...and I just...don't know how to tell my parents. It's a very touchy subject to me, and I have a really hard time talking about that kind of stuff. It was pretty easy the first time because all I said was that I was feeling depressed and they just kind of got the hint and asked me if I wanted therapy...but...now that it's been kind of been put on the backburner, I don't really know how to remind them. :/

...it's not a pleasent process, when I have to talk about personal stuff like that.

I know. that must be hard! You have allot of courage. Could you ask.. Hey did you guys ever find a therapist that you felt comfortable with? I'm feeling like it would really help me now. Alternatively, could you talk a school counselor into having the conversation for you?

best,
ev

My suggestion is to write a letter to them. Say whatever you want to say, place it in a spot that they'll see it, and wait. That way you don't have to be around for the first reaction. They may want to talk a bit after the fact, but it'll be easier at that point.

That might actualy work...when I find time to write a letter. (I have lots of schoolwork right now) I know I did that before when I made my christmas this year because I was super-paranoid about what their reaction would be when I told them what I wanted (because everything I like they think I'm too old for) I'm still unsire about the entire theing...but I feel a sense of urgencey on the matter so I'll see what I can do here to communicate.

I would just do some chore alongside my mother (washing dishes or laundry/folding clothes, etc.) and mention that you are still interested in therapy. I wouldn't go into details or anything, would say it kind of lightly, ask your mother what her life was like when she was a teen and would she have tried therapy if it were available to her, etc.
