<font color="purple">When I was a kid, the T's in school were always so nice to me. It's like we were greats pals or something.
The T that I ave now is nice as a person, but I don't know if she is invalidating me, or if I'm just being my silly, stupid self and acting like a drama queen and she's just being my voice of reason. (see my pc blog in my signature for details) but, I don't know how they are supposed to be, wether they should be friendly or professional. Sympathetic or reasonable. I don't know if i'm just looking for a friend in a place I shouldn't, or just need an actual bond between T and I to help things along. ![]() |

Could be a little of everything actually... T's aren't supposed to be your "best friend" because they're supposed to push you a bit (after you trust them of course)... otherwise, there's no point in therapy. If you have a concern with her brushing off whats happening in your life as "teenage drama/angst" then perhaps you need to find someone else.
People do need a good relationship/bond with their therapists to be able to get through some of the really tough spots (that therapy has a habit of unearthing). Sorry, I'm not good at answers, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
