How did it get to be Tuesday again?

Another long line up, culminating in group therapy tonight....
Started the dat at the vet - seems my "kid" blew his knee out. This is dumb, but my first thought was "I didn't know cat's have knees! Where's he hide them?!"
Then - rather soon- I am trying my accupuncture appnt again (shaking)
after that is Cognitive behavioral therapy/coping skills, and last... yes... Group T. I can't even remember what last time was about or what we are supposed to have ready for tonight. Guess just showing up is a good start?

Sounds like a busy, busy day. Exhausting! Yes, just showing up is very very good. If you were supposed to have homework ready for Group, well, there's always the excuse that your kitty ate it. Or there's always the tried and true, "I forgot." Hope your kitty is doing well. Does she have to have a bandage on her "knee"?

Now that is a full day! Look at you go!

Yes, showing up is GOOD and all that is required. Just go, be there, breathe.

heh - no... just a lot of pain killers. poor baby. I still can't find his "knee" but I guess dogs typically have surgery for this, and cats have pain killers and it gets better (proves that cats really don't have knees, lol).

thank you for the encouragement!!! Ok so I haven't been this dissociated for this many hours in ages. I am not sure how long I can do this whole accupuncture thing. I totally tranced out, lost my body to numbing cold, was a half hour late to the CBT skills group and in a *terrible mood* and then was even late to group T because I lost time. *sigh*. I even ate chocolate =) to "ground", but to no avail. I was even parked and sitting there (still late but didn't know it) downstairs from group T and on the phone. Even asked the caller what time it was, but didn't register the time. 10 minutes later i asked again and this time registered that i was super late and ran in... I am sure it is a good thing - nothing too "deep" was happening in there... and then at the end of the night, before we had even done checking in/out, the friggin fire alarm went off!! HOLY CROW!!! I totally jumped right out of my skin lol and am still shaking (i guess it is a measure of how NOT in my body I am). Sooooooooo... moral of the story here is... not to have expectations. That way they can't get messed up!

Cats' knees are way up their legs compared to humans, or at least that's the way it looks. The first part of their hind legs are actually their feet (they walk mostly on their toes), then there is the ankle, a long bone that is the shin, and finally the knee which is up towards the body itself! The knee and thigh and the joint at the pelvis look close together.

Ohhhhhhhh ok. And all this time I thought that was his thigh or something. Thanks!!!! That really helped and explains why he looks so funny hobbling. sure wish he'd let me medicate him - last night I ended up wearing his pain med... *sigh*.
