Dang it I'm hungry for fattening foods now.
DONUTS DONUTS DONUTS

Am I similar to my T?
I don't know... I think he's pretty cool.
I'd say we're pretty similar.

He probably likes donuts too... but then who doesn't like donuts?

I sensed that my T and I were similar in many ways, but different in others. I think that we were both gentle types, but that he didn't have issues with self-esteem and shyness, as I have had. I don't think he would have been able to help me with some of that if he had the same problems. I would sense some similarities... an appreciation of nature and animals, wanting to help others...but I think he was more grounded and realistic in his approach and I've always been a dreamer. Whatever it was, it made for a good balance between us.

I imagine us being relatively similar. We have the same sense of humor, share of love for pets, enjoy learning, and it would appear that she also had been a bit of a loner at points in her life. I think I am more superficial and also, you know, rather unstable. She's definitely the type of person I'd like to see myself progress into within the next 20 years.

I have never worked with anyone who is "like" me. There has always been some significant difference - age, gender, race etc and I think on reflection that its the way I like it because it helps me to have a stronger sense of who is me and who is the therapist - must be a boundary thing then. Having said that, I couldn't work with anyone who wasn't quick, intelligent, had a sense of humour and liked books.

Most important thing is that there is an alliance between you for the work to take place.
