I recently befriended someone from Bible study after we discovered we had SO many mental health issues in common. I've known of her for years - her daughter has always been a years behind my son in school - they're in college now. But now she has taken a turn towards paranoia and is feeling like she can't trust me or our minister any longer, that we are going to spread all her secrets (we haven't and won't) I was a psych RN for many years and have dealt with this, but not "in my own backyard." I am just devastated.

Actually it doesn't sound as though you're just like your friend....YOU sound much more self aware (even if some of your issues are the same). All that you can do is continue to be a friend and reassure her that she can trust you and the minister....(and, of course, keeping her in your prayers)...Time will prove to her that you are trustworthy and hopefully her paranoia will subside....I think you sound like a good friend to have.....Grace
