I am trying my best but nothing i do is right, nothing i can do to help, My wife will not back me up instead she will stand behind behind the kids andallow them to backtalk,cuss me and intentionally disobey me <font color="red"> </font>

I have been a stepmom for over 12 years and it is tough! Do the kids live with you full time? The only thing that I know is that the bio parent should be the one to control the kids. How long have you been in this situation? Mothers are very protective of their kids and sometimes they don't see it. One thing is that you and your wife needs to sit down and come up with a plan on how your family relates and what the rules are. You and your wife needs to have a united front when it comes to dealing with the kids. How old are the kids? Kids are good at putting parents against each other even non divorsed parents. They know the weak points and will use it to thier advantage. Let me know more so I can help you if I can.

This is an age-old issue. I have been in the same boat for the last 5 years. For me at least, I had to come to terms and let go of some of the power I felt I had to have. They will test your boundaries until you have no hair left. Having a new parent is tough on them as it is us. Hang in there and try and smile a lot. This isn't as much about you as it is about them and their world changing. Vent when you get a chance, but not at them or your wife. The best way to cope with this is to have a strong relationship with your wife. The rest will come in it's own time. Please don't feel that I am blaming you, not so. Life is just so much easier and nicer when we learn to pick our battles.

hi rufus..my advise is get some family counseling. I myself will not stand a child cussing me. I have been there done that. Blended families are really hard to deal with. My best to you hon
