I read the letter that the psych doc wrote to my daughter's GP. TWICE he said "I was unable to interview the mother." Well DUH! I was instructed by her father to not show up and to not say anything to the doctor ahead of time that was unsolicited, so as not to "sway the doctor's opinion." But he had "a lengthy interview with the father."
Daughter's ADD re-eval today.

I would then call that dr and meet with him and your daughter. Your opinion is needed here.

I agree. It sounds like the doctor doesn't know the whole story.

Shirley,

Sounds to me like this doc is trying to DX your daughter while listening with only one ear. (Kinda like selling a new car with no tires, doesn't make sense!!)

Make the call so your voice can be heard! Your daughter will benefit greatly from this, and that's what's most important.

Huge Hugz,
Dolfin

Yo Cheesehead dudess; Daughter's ADD re-eval today.

How did it go??? Regardless of prior evaluations; as long as she could be interviewed w/o your ex being in the room...they have a new "old stand-by" evaluation for determining ADD status. Went through it w/ my T (I have ADD -- but I was doing research on my own time on the newest evaluation guidelines) They very up-dated, precise, simple questions that will qualify your daughter, unless your ex & girlfriend are not in the room during the interview (pressure on your daughter)

Good Luck!! Daughter's ADD re-eval today. Daughter's ADD re-eval today. Daughter's ADD re-eval today. NO Daughter's ADD re-eval today. Daughter's ADD re-eval today.

My 2 cents worth!

She doesn't have to have ADD to have those "traits" because perfectionism and other disorders can account for them. Too much pressure to achieve can make some ppl ... different, eh?
