Came home after making pet food deliveries tonight to find my good old neighbor standing outside my door talking to my cat through the window. Mind you this guy has no coat on and it's freezing outside.

I guess I need to grow a backbone. Problem is, I don't know who to call to get help for him. I don't want him standing outside my door and I told him very firmly "do not stand outside my door". Five minutes later he is back. It's really annoying to have him back. Guess if he can act well enough to get home so he can drink, he can comprehend "go away".

Guess I am just venting here. And for those of you who know the situation (came up last summer) it's really getting creapy. Left a email and voicemail for the landlord. Was working on my budget numbers for my nonprof group and he knocked 5 different times. I finally had to go to the library to go online but when I got back, he was there.

Do you all think I should call like the mental health police? Whenever this guy is sober (which was sometime last week when he got out of the nursing home) he is fine. His brother has all but dropped him as a person and I just am at the end of my rope.

I guess this guy really likes to numb out or something but I'm having to do a lot of deep breathing exercises. Trying to focus on other things.

What do you all suggest?

Adult protective services might help.

just being silly here, but maybe the next time you walk by him, you could knock him out with your tail......it's had so much exercise, it's gotta be a good strong weapon by now....lol.

I hope this gets sorted out quick enough.... As if you don't have enough on your plate already without this freak. I'd lose my sense of humour

Yeah, gotta be strong. He seems to be here during all the important moments like when the wifi got here to get me on the internet, when a friend came by with a Hanauaka gift, when I am about to get in the shower. Guy doesn't want to go out of his comfort zone to make new friends. Adult protective services couldn't do anything for him just hanging around because they never catch them at it. Last night I was watching tv and he's standing outside talking to my cat. It's just really creepy. But I guess I just have to hurt his feelings as he says to get him to go away. And if you ever just let him stand there and talk, he will bring up the most morbid topics like why don't people eat bugs, or how he married his hs sweetheart (this was over 40 years ago) or how he sleeps in his pj's. Last week he had to the nerve to tell me I attract him sexually and I just said you know I'm gay. Then he wanted to know "what we do in bed". It just makes me sick, but if I have to hurt his feelings or take my space, I have no qualms anymore. Sometimes you just have to have those boundaries.

Lesson learned, when you get to be an old fart, make sure you have lots of friends so you don't bug them all...that and don't mix liquor with stroke and psych meds because you will go around bugging people.

wow, this would drive me nuts, futz. can you get a restraining order against him? maybe that would put an end to all this. you could tell the cops about the sexual harassment now.

Next time it gets out of hand I guess I will have to call the police.

do you need to wait? i don't know how exactly that works but with all this guy has done i'd think you could just call them now and get things set in motion so when he shows up next you can have him hauled off. take care nutz. i hope you get some peaceful sleep.
