for starters: he lies. he messes people's work up. he blames everyone else for his mistakes. he loses artwork. he leaves for lunch, etc. without telling anyone. he breaks things. a lie..he said he was sounded in action in the Navy, chasing drug runners. he's 23. when did the Navy chase drug runners? anyway, we're at our wit's end with him.

yesterday, he left for lunch without our knowing it. he has a habit of wandering around the store, to avoid work, and i started to go to lunch. i got chewed out for "leaving for lunch, while M is at lunch". i told the super that i had no way of knowing that he had gone to lunch. he had not told us that he was leaving. then he got back late and i had to leave late. then i got chewed out again for taking a late lunch. so, for the first time ever, i lit into him. i told him that i was tired of his shirking responsibility, lying, losing artwork, blaming the rest of us for his screw-ups, etc. since i'm too old to be having periods, i could tell that he was desperately trying to have a comeback...i told him to not even think of coming back at me about it. i am sick of doing his work. re-doing his work. having to explain to customers that the work has to be re-done, etc. i take great pride in sending out a piece that i'd hang in my home. what am i going to do???? co-worker yesterday is the only day that i've said anything to him. other than to refuse to take responsibility for his mistakes. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Keep your cool. Don't need to be losing your job in the process too. Sounds like he's doing a good job of losing his own job.

i loved the way that i said all of my "lighting into him" in a calm and low voice and used "i" sentences.

he's definitely teetering on the edge. a manager came back last week and asked me how he was doing. so, i told him. he was fired from Wright's..where i used to work. he doesn't know i know that they fired him.

Sorry Faye. It seems like something I have gone thru when I was a working gal. It's infuriating. Hopefully he will quit..or be fired. Let's hope soon. co-worker co-worker

I would march straight over the supers head if it isn't resolved...doesn't sound like he/she is controlling the troops. It would be the supers responsibility to make sure lunches were flowing smoothly and people were accounted for. co-worker

Pat, I'm glad you've cleared the air with him. I have to say that I agree with Petunia on letting others know about the situation.

You shouldn't have to get chewed out because you can't contol another emplyee's actions.

I hope it all works out good!

Let us know!

A very interesting thing happened today as I was leaving for my lunch. The manager pulled me aside and we were talking about the framing. I told him how I could sell a lot more frames, by repairing the scratches and glitches. He asked how they scratches get on them. I said they are handled roughly when they are unpacked. Then he asked about M. I told him....everything. He said he will take care of it. He might talk to him or he might put him back in the stock room. Who knows? Just so he doesn't frame with us anymore. Today he blamed others for four mistakes that he made. co-worker co-worker

Okay, so, Pat, it sounds like you're working in a frame shop??? I am curious about what kind of work you're doing...please expand when you have time. I've done every type of art employment from cartoonist (deadline, etc.), to freelance graphic art, to full time artist, to now art teacher (which I like best!). Also learning matting and framing, attending a school for it in Charlotte, NC. Have you ever thought about opening your own business in this area?
