Okay, so in August I started studying at a music school. I'm the oldest in our class (born 1993 and the others 1994 and 1995). We have a great music teacher and he's also our mentor. He's awesome and I really adore him to 100%.

In November when I started going deeper into my depression, he was the first person I talked to about my problems and I felt like he really understood me. He was really careful with what he was asking me, and he just cared about me so much.

Since then our relationship to each other has grown stronger and stronger, now I can just come to him and start crying and he won't judge me or ask me what's wrong. Just let me cry. I can joke with him and I can laugh with him, and he's still my greatest teacher.

This kind of relationship feels so good, but I'm still a little scared. What does this mean? I mean, what's going on?

I think it depends on whether this man is just caring about you and mentoring you. Is there a huge difference in age or his being married that would be an obstacle...just thinking it might be romance? Just be careful...I think you already have a big crush.

I think he's 38 years old, so 20 years older than me and he's married. This is not the first time this happens, but it's just weird that I can actually fall for a teacher. I mean, a TEACHER. It just feels wrong..

I think you should knock off the come hither stuff with your teacher. It isn't fair to the teacher and it isn't fair to yourself. If you have emotional problems, please seek out the school counseling office.

Yes, IcecreamKid is right, your emotional problems should be going to a therapist. I think you're transferring those needs to your prof. that a therapist usually stands in for.
It's nice to feel someone gets you, but the prof. is not trained to handle this. Don't mess with his life and yours, it can as I think you know, only lead to problems for both of you.
Hugs, bj

I'm reminded of Sting's "Don't stand so close to me" lyrics. Talk to your doctor or another professional about your depression; it does not belong in the classroom.
