Hello everyone I am writing this message as i have many worries especially about my appearance. I am a young girl from London and wanted to ask people whether they think i look ugly and what age i look?
My confidence has been shaken and knocked as friends i had turned on me. I argued with them and one in particular has been especially nasty so i'm quite upset at moment saying i look old. ![]() http://s1182.photobucket.com/albums/x447/angelk01/ |

(((essexgirl))),
Have you ever asked this girl if you look old? Sometimes if girls (caddy type girls who are somewhat selfish) if they find somthing they think bothers you they will harp on it. I learned that in High School myself in the group of girls I hung out with. They did that to each other and I honestly never understood it or liked it. And I didn't do it to them. Some girls that question their own self esteem like to put others down so they can think "they" are better. Don't listen to that and that girl is not someone with hanging out with to be honest. She is a bully type and they are not what you want for a friend. No, you don't look old, you look like a young holesome english girl. ((((Hugs)))) Open Eyes |

Oh Essex I am so sorry that happened. It hurts. It cuts especially when it comes from someone that you consider a friend.
I have had a lot of personal experience regarding how horrible girls, young women and women are to each other, so I understand how you are feeling ... I have been back stabbed, bullied, put down, tricked, manipulated, lied to, disappointed, hurt deeply, and on and on, by supposed friends. I look back on it now and I see how painful it was and how much it hurt me because I let them get to me. My self esteem was already low, I was vulnurable, so it was much easier to believe the lies (negatives) than to brush it off. Especially when it came from my own mother ![]() As with Open Eyes, I've learned that these people were insecure, jealous, aggressive, and the only way they knew how to feel better about themselves was to hurt others / put others down / manipulate and back stab. As I mentioned before, you are beautiful. You are lovely. You are intelligent, brave and kind. You reach out to others here, and share, ...and I am so impressed with how you ask for help when you need it! That shows me even more how wonderful you are. |

I stopped caring and worrying about other peoples opinions. They either like me or they can get the hell out of my life. I dont care that I may come off as a lesbian because I dress "butch" sometimes. Other things, like weight and acne, I care about but on a superficial reason that doesnt really have to do with how Im preceived. I just want to take care of myself and feel good about who I am as an individual.
This has led me to believe that its important I learn to not gossip because that hurts people too. Its no ones business unless you make it theres. Thdn you have to respect that they told you and move on. In high school I had super poor skills at keeping things to myself. As I got older I realize the importance of never overindulging your life unless the other person is responsive in that respect. It takes a lot of work. It is also difficult to maintain friendships in general. |

hi essexgirl- I agree with the other responses. Bullys are always insecure about themselves and pick on others so that they feel better. I am also impressed that you posted here and shared what you are going through with us. You are a very pretty girl with beautiful eyes and I am very happy to be one of your friends.Love and hugs to you

While appearance might be the first thing others judge you by - it is really the person you are inside that matters.
I didn't look at your pic. But I am 55 and hope that what I ran up against over years and the actions I took might be helpful to you. Take a few extra minutes to style your hair. Apply a little make-up to accentuate your best features. Dress professionally - in a way that reflects the job you want to get. If you feel unsure about the best styles of hair, make-up and clothing - head off to the stores. There are so many free consulting services these days! And, if you do have to spend a little bit of $ for good advice - the return on the investment might just shock you. Wishing you the best. ![]()

See?? What did I tell you?? You ARE beautiful and your EYES are gorgeous. You are a pretty, sweet, caring young 17 yr. old girl. You have NOTHING to worry about!
Anyone who has told you that you look old is someone you should just ignore because they're probably JEALOUS!!! ![]() Teenagers can be so catty, and cruel. They backstab, spread rumors, and can be out and out mean. You seem to have grown up but you're still just 17. ![]() ![]() The time to worry about looking old is when you're MY age. LOL Take care hon, and God bless. Keep in touch. Love, Lee |

Sometimes people say things just to hurt you, it doesn't mean that it's true. I'm sure you are an attractive young lady (sorry haven't looked at your pic) but true beauty comes from inside. It's an old saying but very true. I hope you find your confidence again
