I've been spending more and more time talking to this guy on the internet. Over 5 hours, today. He lives across the world from me, but the more I talk to him, the closer I feel towards him. At the moment I probably care about him more than anyone else I know, and if I'm honest, I think I might be in love. However, I am very young (he is about a decade older than me), I have very little in savings, and I'm still in University. I don't think there's any way we could have a relationship.
But I don't want anyone else. |

Where is he from? Long distance relationships can be very fulfilling in the beginning from my own personal experience. You are forced to get to know each other through words, conversation, texts, letters, e-mail, etc. versus the typical face-to-face relationships that usually rush physical intimacy right away. Long distance relationship can force two people to become quite creative in ways to learn one another and feel closer. The downfall -- you never truly know the person until you meet them and even then you don't know the person until you are actually in their environment and life for a good amount of time. Also, the distance does eventually catch up and you come to find you need more than what conversation, mobile devices, etc. have to offer. It can either work or not depending on how dedicated two people are about closing the distance. It can also cause quite a bit of heartache if expectations are not met in the end.

I don't want to get into the geography of it, but lets just say it would cost over £1000 GBP just to fly there, and I just can't spend that kind of money.

Have you talked with him about the possibility of him visiting you or maybe splitting the cost? Does he know how you feel about him? Have you guys been able to video chat at all?
