My psychiatrist put me on Effexor XR this week. I'm glad. Depression and anxiety have pretty much ruined my life. I always said that if I went on a psych medication that it would be a committment for a while. My parents are both living and I have a sister, I'm afraid to tell them about this. I don't think I'm going to. I don't think they would understand and I think it would make them feel like failures. My aunt is currently suffering mental health issues and it's hard enough for them with that. Has anyone else dealth with these issues? I'd like to know what you did.

I improved so much on my meds that my kids (30 & 27) really noticed a difference. When they mentioned that, I told them about the medications, but they are a bit horrified about how many I take to keep the bp relatively stable.--Suzy
