Just wondering. We share so many tragedies... sometimes good memories are just as strong

I think the most romantic thing I ever did was catching clouds with a boy. I was not very old and neither was he. We'd gotten ourselves lost and it was very cold, so we laid down next to each other and waited for someone to come find us. While we lay there we caught clouds. Of course you can't catch clouds but we imagined we did, and we kept a secret that they told us. At least it is a very beautiful memory that I have.

What a wonderful post!
We were both 8 years old and we were in the same class. He was this boy with brown-red hair and the widest green eyes, like emeralds! As we were returning home from school with the school bus I told him that he had the most beautiful eyes. The very next day he rang the doorbell of my house and asked from my mom if I could come outside. After lots of begging, my mom let me go outside to meet him, but he was not there. Instead he had left 2 roses, one white and one red, at the doorstep for me to see!!!! After picking up the roses I went further out to the street to find him. Luckily, my house was on the top of this little hill, so from up there all I was able to see is this little boy running as fast as he could down the street!! That was the cutest thing! He was so shy, he just left the roses and ran away! Hehe!
15 years later I ran into him by accident! Ironically, we were both waiting for a bus to go home!!! I approached him and I actually thanked him for this memory. This was the only time I have ever been given roses. I have painted a good amount of paintings based on this memory and they always do very well.
Go figure.... What's the most romantic/wonderful thing anyone ever did to/with u?

I had to leave my husband, because he made it clear he didn't love me anymore, after less than a year of marriage.

I threw just about every article of clothing Iowned in the back of a VW and drove to New Orleans. It was 1974, and the French Quarter was not quite the tourist mecca it became. No casinos, no Riverwalk, no mega-big hotels.

I drove into town at dusk. A fog was coming off the river. I was negotiating for the room price on the gallery of the ancient Cornstalk Hotel. A very handsome man walked onto the porch and said, "I can show you a better place."

It was like the scene off the cover of a romance novel.

I took the room anyway, but he took to me to dinner and and invited me to go film wild mountain goats in Montana or someplace. He was a nature photographer who even had worked with Jacques Cousteau. I later interviewed him for a newspaper, so it wasn't just a line.

Although I didn't go on the camping expedition, I dated him for a bit.

It happened almost 32 yrs ago. My husband and I had just gone through the wedding ceremony in the back yard of our brand new home, my dream home! The caterer started pouring the champange and handed me and my husband's ours first. Then it happened. I guess somewhere in there, the others got their own champagne. I had no idea he was going to do it, and I doubt he did it, either. He turned around to the group assembled, lifted his glass and said "Ladies and gentlemen... " then turned to me, looked in my eyes and said "... my wife!" We interlocked arms, sipped our champagne and I leaned into him bawling my eyes out!

He's always been able to touch me so deeply that I just bawl! Those times are few and far between, but it happens. What's the most romantic/wonderful thing anyone ever did to/with u?

My Boyfriend, the one who made all my fanatsys come true!

My boyfriend and i met online..so we decided one day to meet. We figured out it would take 10 hours for him to drive up to my house so he was going to come for dinner and spend the week with my family and i. The day he was coming i woke up at 5 am to get the house clean and ready for him(im a last minute kinda gal). He called me on the phone around 6 am and asked me to go to my parents bathroom so i did..i was getting really pissed because he was wasting my cleaning time. so i was in the bathroom looking in the mirror and he told me i want you to practice how you would see me so i dont get insulted if you hate the way i look. I said alright whatever..so he said close your eyes, i did, he counted one, two, three ..open and i did pretending to look surprised..then the doorbell rang! I said oh my god, no way...your here? he said let me in im sick of standing out here lol..i was unbathed in pjs with my hair a mess and my teeth unbrushed as my first impression..he..well i fell in love with him at first sight...and he told me later he thought i was the most beautiful thing he ever saw in an overly large t shirt and baggy sweat pants!!...he said he drove 10 hours all night long and slept in the parking lot of a Home Depot (store) to surprise me.....and so my fairy tale romance has not ended since

I will never forget my husband proposing to me. I thought we were going out to dinner with business clients but when we got to the restaurant it was empty. I still did not realise anything. He had paid to clear out the restaurant for a few hours. There was a single rose on the table. He then immediately dropped to his knee. He proceeded to toss the ring under the table he was so nervous. He didn't ask me to marry him, he asked me to be his wife. He is not a romantic man really so this is a memory I cherish. My entire family knew this was happening. It still amazes me that he kept it a secret. He even asked my mother's blessing and had one of her rings modified to look exactly like one I had admired.

Then last year he was away from home for about a week. When he called one evening he asked me to go outside and look at the sky to see the same stars he was seeing. (It was overcast and I couldn't see any stars) but just his gesture meant the world. Subsequently, I visited the same place he was at when he made that phone call. I cannot share this next memory on-line but it involves those same stars!!

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.

I went to a wake. The funeral home was packed and there was a constant sound of voices chattering. I was standing talking with someone when a man I'd never seen before walked into the hallway.

Everyone but the man disappeared. The funeral home and all the people were gone. The voices were gone. Everything was black except the light shining on him. We were the only two people in the universe. I don't know how long it lasted. It was totally surreal, like a scene from a movie. He told me later that he had the same exact experience except he was seeing me in the light.

He spent the rest of the night staring at me. I spent the rest of the night pretending I wasn't staring at him. We ended up engaged for a while, but it didn't work. We are still good friends.

The most recent romantic event happened to me was just last week. I was going out with a person that I'm starting to get to know and we took a stroll down a street and looked at old shops and the restaurants. We're both college students and are on a strict budget. Finally we found a place and all I could afford was dessert and he paid for dinner. We shared dinner and desert on the same plate. He held down the food for me as I took a bite. He didn't eat first until I took the first bite. He had great table manners. We both didn’t care what other people thought because we only had one dinner plate at our table. We had gone to a Thai restaurant and he kept biting into the spices and food that wasn't supposes to be eaten. We had such a great time laughing at one another and experiencing new food.

We had such a great time even though we could only afford a $15 night. Afterwards we spent the whole night talking. Sometimes the best experiences don’t always have to have a high price tag to it.

The Most Romantic thing I had ever done is.... I when I was about 16 years old me and this boy started to date. We had problems with family and our families also didn't want us to date. Any way we decided one night to run away together. It was august and warm, a clear starry night. We had no place to go so we slept out underneath the stars. We went home the following day and believe it or not we were able to see each other after that. But the passion and love we had for each other was amazing.
