Going cold-turkey is never, ever, a good idea. Veeerry few people can manage cold turkey.

Can you make a plan about what you want to change in your diet? There's more than just Coca Cola.

Only change one thing at a time. Instead of cutting out ALL the Coke, try to drink a can or so less a day (I don't know how much you drink a day). If you buy bottles and not cans, then maybe try to drink less of the bottle at once (and record down how often you can drink it). After you do that for a while and it's easier, then remove some more. And then more. And then more.

It needs to be gradual so that you don't havve withdrawal symptoms, and also just to help you not notice the change you're making so your body can adjust.

Yeah, I figured gradual would be better after I suffered, so I kinda tried that and then ended up drinking a lot more again, almost my normal daily intake. I can see it's going to be extremely hard for me, but I'm going to try nevertheless. The problem is also that I don't actually know what my normal intake is, I drink it when the mood strikes. I reckon it's over 2 litres a day, but I'm not sure.

Pay attention to what you purchase at the store. Keep all your empties out and lined up so that you can see what you drink in a week. When you've done a week just drinking normally, you can measure it out, decide how much you want to try to remove, and then purchase enough to last you the week that will be missing that portion. Your willpower will come in when it comes to then NOT purchasing any more during the week when out places - you'll have to take what you want from home with you for the day.

Oh wow, I am totally in favor of cold turkey! The only way I've ever been able to quit anything is that way-- if I slowly withdraw or ration myself, I think about whatever it is I am trying to quit 24/7, anticipating the next time I can have one/do that.

I think it's why I still haven't lost weight -- I can't quit food cold turkey
