I’m here on account of my boyfriend, who owns trust issues that deeply concerns me. I’m literally the only one he can trust. He acknowledges that he’s insecure, there’s a problem, and wants to receive help about this, but as a high school student, he can’t get a therapist because his parents don’t believe there is anything wrong.

What can we do for him to receive help? We don’t have any money between us to hire someone.
Is there anything that I can do as his girlfriend to help him with this problem?

Throughout his life, he’s been neglected, abandoned, and lied to by his closest friends and family, leaving him unable to even openly trust his own parents. Now he’s in a new country, with a dysfunctional family and a brother that has been threatening his safety.

I have tried my best to comfort him, but he still owns an inner mindset of, “If I open up I will only get hurt again.” “Everybody is out to get me.”
This fear has grown to the point where he’s afraid that I will leave him, which is something I won’t ever do.

Please give ideas about what I can do. Thank you all for your support.

The first thing he should do is talk to a counselor at his high school, tell what bothers him and go from there. If need to, counselor could talk to his parents or if he doesn't want that then counselor could give him strategies how to feel better.
