I wish I had better reasons to feel the way I do. But I just dread going to my inlaws house. Its nothing but gossip and analyzing other people there. Yet they cant look at themselves at how they are and the things they do. It urks me so much. I feel so stressed right now thinking we are leaving in an hour here to go to their house. And I dont have a reason not to go. Dont know why I am ranting on.. guess I just needed to vent a bit. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Dreading today...

(((((((((( Bethy ))))))))))))

I feel for you, things like that use to stress me a lot, I had to train myself to remember it's only a visit and thank God, not to live with under the same roof.
I do not know if that gives you any consolation, but maybe thinking that will get you through the time you have to spend with them.
Take care,
DE

I know exactly how you feel. I literally have panic attacks going to visit my family because they are so judgmental of every possible superficial nucance that it's crazy (with me-it's my hair which is always in need of improvement, with everyone else, it's "how crazy they are", or "how they can't control their weight", or who can't keep a job.) Oh, it's like you know you are not only under one microscope but several, and you feel, really feel for the rest of the people they talk about.
I know how it is, and the only thing that I say which shuts them up is "Well, yes, but to each his own, besides, isn't there that quote in the Bible that says, "Judge not or you will be judged?" I kind of believe in that, don't you?" It really works. I'm an atheist and I use it all the time.

I made it thru the day. My husband turned out to be just as bad almost as they were . HE was talking about stuff that should have only been between us. And I ended up getting so embarrassed that I did something embarrassing myself. I dont want to get into what he said .. but when he said it.. I just yelled his whole name in an angry voice and then I slapped him on the back. He gets diarhea of the mouth so easily when he is around them . He just picks up right where they are in a conversation and starts blabbering everything out. I cannot trust him around them. And I wonder even more now what all he does talk to them about concerning us. I have some other issues going on with him right now that I will probably be starting a new thread on soon. I may copy and paste this into there . I think I'd rather get your opinions on the new thread than this one . I will probably put some of this in there also. Thanks for your opinions and everything.
