I feel so sad when my boyfriend says,"It looks like it was a nice day/week." He said it earlier. I've been feeling guilty ever since.
When he says it it's like he's also saying, "I could have enjoyed this day, it's all your fault I couldn't." Is it my fault because of how hurt he feels because of my past actions? It was his choice to stay home, it's his choice to continue being depressed, right? What can I say in those moments? I'm sorry? He may just follow that up with, "No you're not." And that's only going to hurt more. Am I trying hard enough? |

What made you think that saying "it was a nice day/week" is equivalent to saying "I could have enjoyed this day, it's all your fault I couldn't." May be he just means it was a nice a day and he enjoyed it, like when you go to a party and had fun and you say : "It was a nice party". Does he show you that he's upset or you assume that while he is nice to you, regardless of your past actions?

Is there more to the story? I often say "it was such a nice day" and I really mean nothing by it. Is there a reason you think he means something else?

Was there another time that he was upset about you going somewhere without him?

Don't overthink it too much. I'm sure he meant that the week was fine and that was that. It doesn't necessarily mean there were any back thoughts to that statement. Were his expression and tone showing any weird signs he might be indirectly placing some sort of fault onto you?
