I'm 36 but look young for my age.My family is always on my case and telling me to grow up.They tell me i'm to old to be going to concerts and baseball games all the time. But those 2 things make me happy.I have had a rough life and i think i have the right to enjoy myself.i'm single and have no kids. I'm a responsiable adult. But i have to remember these people have a tendency to be verbally abusive and very judgemental. They can dish it out but can't take it.Hope u don't mind i added the lyrics below. Stay Young - Strata
Nothing to lose is a path you can choose
and it feels just right at the time
Then one day you awake with a fear you can't shake,
you're an actor forgetting your lines
You were a star when you started, so bright eyed and ready
but now you just can't seem to shine
Nothing to lose is a path that you choose
and it feels just right at the time

But can you still remember your very first kiss
or the future you hoped for when we were still kids?
Stay young, stay young

There are constants like gravity, heartbreak and shame,
you can never out-run them, they're part of your name
like lessons you learn from a past you can't change,
stay young, stay young
For a lifetime of paying dues and ruthless reviews,
yeah it's hard not to end up a cynic
when everyone's too scared to walk in your shoes
but can work up the nerve to be critics

No, don't lose you heart
Don't lose your soul
Don't give up control

It's the business end of a loaded gun,
facing tomorrows of black, useless lungs
with nothing but lies left on tips of our tongues,
stay young, stay young!
Oh can you still remember your very first kiss
or the future you hoped for when we were still kids
trying to keep up our innocence in this messed world?
Stay young, stay young, stay young...

Thanks sabau2. At times baseball games and concerts are the only thing that keeps me going and makes me happy. My family and there verbal abuse sure don't.

Thanks, UCLA...I needed to remember that!
I still think and act young, and having just been on the summer college campus for classes, I relate well to the 20-somethings there, and they actually treat me as an equal, without age prejudice...so refreshing!
When my daughter was growing up and in high school, she often told me that I was the only parent the friends liked to visit with!
I've let age get to me lately...thanks for the reminder to stay young!

You know what?? I think you are an adult and can pick and choose what you want to do when you want to do it. You don't have to answer to anyone about what makes you tick, what makes you happy or what makes you sad.

Enjoy yourself....you are the one that has to live with yourself for the rest of your life. These things you do to make yourself happy are what good memories are made of. And knowing that you are taking care of #1 is the utmost important! YAY for you!!

Thanks u 2. What really use to bug me.Ok still do's. Is my mom and others have excused me of sleeping around with profesinal baseball players and guys in bands.LoL that's laughable. One former baseball player i grew up with in Cali.Know his whole family and some of his friends.Nothing like having sex with anyone in baseball or in music ever happend.Even though Todd retired 3 years ago. My mom still think's i fooled around with him and thinks i maybe fooling around with someone else. One time i got so mad at my mom.I said yes mom i'm having Sex with Todd are you happy now. True about what Sabau said. You are the one that has to live with yourself for the rest of your life.I would never be anyone's other women. Because then i don't think i could live with myself.I think i'm a decent person. But my family treats me like i'm the black sheep of the family. My sister can get arrested 3 times and it's ok.My brother can have 3 girls get pregnant and talk the girls into getting abortions and family don't say crud about it.I don't do nothing bad like that and they treat me like i'm white trash or worse. All i'm doing is trying to live my life and have fun every now and then. But my family always has to make snide comments to me.

Hmmm....sounds to me like they might be jealous of you and your happiness. I guess there is nothing bad in your life that they can hound you about so they make up things? Such a shame Stay Young

Family is always harder on us than anyone else and hardest to live with too. I'm sorry you are put down that way. I know it's hurtful, but what I try to do in those times is "consider the sources" and let it go in one ear and out the other if at all possible. I know it's not easy....lordy I do know.

Hold on tight to your beliefs and your happy times that YOU make!

Fanny.. they are jealous.. im 38 and i personally dont think i look it, and ask anyone im in SOCIAL chat with i certainly dont act it..i am a mom of 3 and enjoy doing things they do, sports, rollerblading, even video games. life is short, enjoy whatever makes you happy and smile. i know i feel like a million bucks when i do. shame on them for ridculing you..on what makes you happy.
and if they still give you a hard time tell them to keep their negativity to themselves.

goodluck and keep enjoying what you love to do.

take care Vee
