So at my therapy appointment today we discussed love addiction/codependency. My therapist basically said the way I am loving, isn't love at all. I was a bit shocked, and upset to hear this, but as she explained more it made some sense. I am going through a stressful time with my boyfriend being out of town, and I have learned a lot about myself during this time such as the love addiction/codependency thing. I was wondering if anyone knows of resources/books that talk about love addiction/codependency, or basically how to deal with being the controlling and abusive one in the relationship. Thanks in advance!

Have you ever been screened for borderline personality? Love addiction and codependency are a huge part of it. I would consider talking to a professional and possibly being screened for BPD. You remind me a lot of myself (I have BPD along with bipolar. Kinda tricky)
Edit: you asked about resources for help. I read a book called "addicted to love" religiously. Here you go... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Codependency No More,
and of course any book/daily reading by Melody Beattie. Will change your life. Maybe check out some Sex and Love Anonymous or Codependency Anonymous meetings. That really helps. Good luck! and good job on the awareness! |
