...that whole "how am I going to cope without them?" thing? Having that right now. <-- that emote is an understament. I'm not on about death, btw, although I suppose that's a viable thought process for people in those situations... I'm referring to a love interest you've been strongly connected to for almost a year.

My suggestion is to get active and busy yourself. And avoid checking up on them.
Thanks for this!

Hello IchbinkeinTeufel: The Skeezyks doesn't really have any particularly useful suggestions here. Over the years, I've been on various antidepressants, sometimes in combination with other med's. Plus I've seen a few different therapists for brief periods of time. None of it was of much help. So, in the end, I've turned to the various "self-help" techniques contained within the practice of Buddhism. And, in keeping with those techniques, what I do in situations such as you describe is to simply strive to accept what I am feeling... with lovingkindness & compassion.

That's actually quite helpful; thanks. I do tend to fight my feelings rather than accept them. This is how I'm feeling. It's understandable. It's okay to feel. It's not going to last forever. That said, if I just squish it all down and pretend it's not there, I will absolutely be fine! ...until I've run out of things to do, and it's time to sleep, then I'm alone in bed where my mind takes over. x_x
