Ok. I finally succumbed to the fact that he's not a texter. Well not really in the sense of being regular. But I shouldn't be surprised, for when he called, after my text, and shared those beautiful words about our relationship he said "I find that texting doesn't allow you to express what you really feel." But I'll be honest. Though it was nice that he let me know, I still didn't like it because I like to text. No I'm not a BIG texter, but I do like to text.
Sooo, seeing he's not really into it but I am, I just go ahead and text him anyway time to time, knowing full well that if I do get a response it'll probably make the earth shake lol.
Such is why when he responded last week with "Thanks for Bible scripture" it was such a big deal to me though a girlfriend couldn't understand my jubilance. I guess it's a matter of perspective.

Hopefully you can reach some compromise on the texting. I do understand what was meant about how it doesn't allow for expression how one really feels. I've seen how and why texting can go wrong. Even like posting in a forum. Tone and inferred emotion is completely left to the reader, which can lead to serious misunderstandings.

You are very right, it is a matter of perspective. My SO hates talking on the phone, I am okay with that. My ex-best friend hates texting. We are no longer friends because one day she just never text me back. I do hope you two can come to a compromise, as stated above. It is easier to find a middle ground than have one person suffer.

I'm not a big texter. I have had SOs in the past give me a hard time about this. As someone on the receiving end, I say respect his boundaries.

It seems to me a proper reply to him saying something like that would be to respond likewise - via the phone. Texting is for impersonal chat. Before you text, ask yourself, "Would this be better vocalized?" I believe to talk about intitmate or important feelings by text is to trivialize it. You may be giving the message you don't really care. This should be a matter not treated carelessly which is what he may be thinking.

Look, if he feels talking about feelings is important enough to do in a more personalized form you owe it to him to do the same.
Thanks for this!

You're absolutely correct! And I thank you for this!
You have just given me a solution to a certain situation.
Thank you again. Much appreciated.
