I just feel alone right now. Throughout my whole life I had a hard time making friends. I wasn't included in the group and I feel like I've missed out on good times where other people got together without me. I just feel like I never had people I really connected with. I just wish I had someone to talk to right now. So I just feel like I missed out on my life and I don't know if I can keep going.

Welcome to the club. I've had issues making friends in real life as well because I'm an Uber introvert and a socially awkward geek who is more into video games and anime than people haha
![]() The best advice I can give you is if you are into a hobby such as books, video games, or something else, to find local gatherings or events for people interested in your specific hobby and go from there. Otherwise maybe try to meet friends online? I know it isn't the most ideal way to make friends but from experience, it's easier to make friends on social media or online gaming for people who are introverted than meeting people the "traditional" way, not to mention, most of what few true friends I've made in my life I met most of them online either via one of my online games or by Facebook back when I used it. |

Yeah I like video games and anime too. I don't really know of places to go and I would probably just have a hard time talking to people anyways unless I was really drunk. I just got back from sakura-con a few days ago. Its an anime convention in case you didn't know. I went with some friends and went for all three days. It was pretty cool. I should hang out with my close friends more. Ive just been in situations where people didint seem to care and had a hard time making connections with people and where people didn't understand me.

Oh and at least you do have some friends to go to conventions with so it's all good. Cherish them.
I actually used to be a hardcore WoW addict several years ago and I had several friends/guildmates that I met at Blizzcon in 2011 which was one of the most memorable times in my life and it was fun meeting people that I played WoW with in real life for the first time. In fact, that period of my life was probably one of the few instances in my life where I was truly happy. I regret selling my WoW account and dropping contact with most of them ![]() Don't do what I did. |

OMGeeee I love Luffy!!!
Sadly I've run out of One Piece episodes ![]() I only have 2 close friends, I figure its better to measure in quality instead of quantity. Glad you got to go to the convention, and I agree that if you want to widen your social circle, its best to find like minded people to enjoy your interests with. |

![]() I wish I had a friend like Luffy IRL; somebody who would go to such lengths to fight for a friend. I set my profile as Trafalgar Law because he is the most relatable character for me in the show not to mention he looks so cool ![]() The straw hat pirates are my pretend family ![]() Got to say I am really enjoying this thread. |

Whats been bothering me is that the people I hung out with I didn't really talk to much so I felt alone around them. Some people didn't really care and some people I really wanted to be friends with but I had a hard time talking with them. I think I'm just feeling this way cause I feel like I've missed out and I felt alone around people probably cause people would isolate me back in elementary and middle school. There where a lot of mean people back in those days. Then in high school people didnt really seem to care. I mean people seemed to like me but didn't really seem to care cause maybe I'm to boring for them. Im a really quiet person too so they probably just saw me as someone who just rarely talked but sometimes its just I have a hard time talking to people. I dont know its really complicated. I don't really care about having a lot of friends its just that theres certain people I really liked that I wanted to be friends with and still do and I feel like I just missed out on things I really wanted to do. I would try talking to some people sometimes but it didn't really work out. I just feel like years of my life was pretty much just wasted and thats whats been bothering me.

Such a shame that you don't game on PC; I would have been willing to give you my Steam or Battle.net info
![]() I don't do console gaming anymore because modern day consoles are too much like dumbed down PCs only with less powerful hardware than a true PC as well as less control over how you customize a game. I used to love the hell out of old school Nintendo (both the Super NES and N64) as well as the Sega Genesis. Now I mostly play online Strategy, MMOs, and MOBAs on PC with the occasional single player survival or RPG game thrown in the mix ![]() |

I'm 25 yet I've never had a serious relationship with a girl, never been to a party, never had a regular 9-5 job because of my mental health issues and mostly got by via self employment and occasional odd jobs and contract work, and I've never had any "normal" friendships. Heck, I never even got my driver's license or got to go to a prom or anything during my high school days because I couldn't even function in high school. All I've ever had to keep me happy is my games, anime, fictional books/shows, and music. I don't know what else to say ![]() |

I think your history of being bullied is a significant - that can really knock our confidence.
I had that experience too - I would give up on friendships quite easily and was very sensitive to rejection. It took a long time to find the right tribe to be with, but in time it came. I agree with the advice to follow your passion and you will meet others along the way who are similar. |
