I have been experiencing a lot of problems on my new job. I am not very happy that I have to work in such disorganized company.
I am a very detailed oriented person and it is very frustrated that my bosses can't see the problems in the company as a whole. Today I was checking the database, and I saw that we give a discount for one of our clients. According to the information on the form the discount was a 0.94%. I found a little strange as it was too little for the difference on the final price. I than realized that the discount was actually a 6%. I could figure that if I multiply the initial value for 0.94 I'd have the discounted price. So, I was stupid enough to mention it to my manager. She got upset and said that it is obvious that I should multiply it for 0.94 and not 0.94%. But that is exactly what it shows in their system:0.94%. My point was: what happens the day I need to make a repost on the system if they have the wrong information? I'm seriously considering quitting this job. I just need to find a new one. Or maybe I'm overreacting? |

I don't think you're overreacting. You are a detail oriented person at an unorganized company and you say you are unhappy. It might be a good idea to consider changing jobs.

Is the company that disoriented in everything? Or are there simply one or two incidents that tend to throw you off balance? If it's the latter you may be able to bear with it after getting some used to, and maybe you can eventually get a higher position and improve things. But if it's so disorganized that it makes it hard for you to work properly, considering a more fulfilling job is quite logical.

Thanks guys. Everything there seems to be chaotic. I'm sales manager, and it is very hard for me to even do some basic jobs. Their database for example is a real chaos. Although we have a CRM software I could never take a report from it as the information is incomplete and sometimes incorrect. We have one sales meeting as week, and it is basically the sales agents yelling at my boss.
I tried to bring new ideas to the table, but now I think I have to stop as my boss gets upset with it. I can't even ask her questions anymore, she's way to busy to listen to anyone. Even the clients complaint about her. I started sending CV's to other companies. Hopefully something better will come. |

I am sorry for your experience, but I hope you don't mind me pointing out the humour I found in the fact your title said what it says, but was misspelt.
![]() I am not demeaning your problem in anyway, it's just that little things like this can brighten up and alleviate otherwise difficult days. I do hope you can find a solution to your problem. All the best.

I speak from experience when I say this. If your bosses let those kind of things slip, I'm sure they'll be more tolerant with minor mistakes. |

Or another option, do your work less well. Then you can be incompetent just like your bosses.

The important thing to do is focus on work and compromise on the boss's flaws, that is, if you want to stay. But you seem determined to leave, so I wish you luck in finding a suitable place for yourself |

Sounds like your best solution. I have problems lowering my work ethics & standards too.
At least you know that while looking you can just keep silent since you don't plan on staying & let them have their incompetency.
