We're going to call her DC, because it fits her name in a sort-of way. She knows I have feelings for her, deeply, but she has a boyfriend. She strung me along for over a week before I found out she was in a relationship, when HE messaged me. That was over a month ago. Ever since, whenever she's drinking, or stoned, she'll start messaging me, even in the early early early morning or late at night. She puts at these hearts and things, has used "(my name) love" and other things that are misleading. I found it abhorrent when she didn't tell me she had a boyfriend before and I'm not asking her if she still does. I don't want someone who's doing that to me but I do want her at the same time and have to a degree since I met her. Anyone know how to cope with this and has that method worked?

Since you like her--whenever she messages you like this ask, "Are you still with your bf? And see what her reaction is to your question. If you ever get together with her--this will always be the "elephant in the room" so talk to her about it when she flirts or move on......

I'm crazy over her but that's probably a bad idea for the rest of the world. We're both bipolar. DC

Hmm..... Didn't tell you she has a boyfriend......And when she's drunk or stoned she messages you even in the middle of the night?

Danger danger! Even though you have strong feelings for her, this doesn't sound like a relationship that would be good for you.

Are you sure you want to sign up for this?

I don't really want to get involved with DC. I did meet the beauty last Wednesday that I'd like to know more about. My trust issues are very dangerous for me. I tend to attach to usually the worst case scenario, like moving in with a woman over 7 years older with kids in my early 20s, then marrying and having more kids. I know I can't fix it but I've always been one to leap, even at my own cost, to where I know needs help. I suppose I just talked myself out of DC, didn't I? It's that DBT at work?

Good for you!!! That's good insight and you just saved yourself a ton of grief. If she's texting you while she has a boyfriend, she could do it to you. At the very least she's untrustworthy. Kudos.

I'm glad you've decided to not pursue this relationship.

Me too. See my other post about the woman I met last week. It's about to be updated.

Try block her - on your phone / email (if she has that) etc.

She needs to go focus her energy on her boyfriend, and I think it's bloody disgraceful that she lead you on without disclosing the truth. Shame on her and I'm sorry you had to endure that.

Enduring others' bits and bobs gives up strength at the time but we do get strength afterwards. I just know to be very careful now. The people you meet in the hospital can very well be as bad as the people you think should be in the hospital. Yeah, met her there. I actually lied and said I was ok and safe so I could get out as soon as possible after her. It worked. I was out the next day, but I was still mixed mood with suicidality and and some paranoia and a lot of mental overload. When I saw my psych the next day, she knew

I don't want to block her. I still need all the friends I can get.
