Was saying. Just curious if anyone would actually make that walk to hang with a friend, just wondering if anyone sees it as a reasonable distance to walk.

The walking pace quoted 45 mins for 5k is speed walking but as 35 miles is 56km it's doubtful anyone could keep that pace up for the distance. It's something you would need to enter a training programme for - to put it in context it's way longer than a marathon, these things can be done as challenges but need to be built up to. |

I am not so sure the situation is helpless. You have contacts outside the home that can be approached for help: this friend of yours, and even your online teacher/assistant and adjudicator. If it is as bad as you being prevented access outside your home this is a legal matter. There are resources to help. for instance, you have access to us, you then ought to have access to the authorities.
If this is not the case then why aren't you doing something about this on your own? What can we do to motivate and empower you. |

Why are you in online school? Are there no schools in the area?

I agree with Justafriend. If the situation really is as you describe it, I would contact a social worker or your local authorities and talk to them. If you have a disability or mental illness, you should be set up with some kind of services. Or if your parents are ligitmstely abusive or neglectful, you could be removed from their custody. You should not just sit there for the rest of your life, accepting that you'll never drive and never work. You should contact the authorities, the school board, county mental health services... and just start asking where you can get help. You should do it now while you're still under 18 so that things can start happening so you'll be in a better place when you are 18.

i agree with people - 35 miles is way too far to walk, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to sit there and accept that your situation is hopeless. it kind of sounds like a part of you/your depression is looking for confirmation that your situation is indeed hopeless, which gives you permission to give up hope. I know it's difficult to have hope, but a lot of the time nobody is going to come in and give you hope - you might have to take a small action like, as people have said, contacting a social worker or reaching out to the online facilitator of your class. good luck x
