How does this make sense? Parents always complain I never go anywhere but I can't. I live in a rural place, my friends won't do anything for me unless I give them money yet I have done things for them in the past for free I don't see how that is right. Apparently it would take me 15 hours to walk to the public transportation as it is 35 miles away from me. All of the stores, malls, arcades places I could hang out with friends takes hours to get to as well apparently... they are 15 miles from me. And I would have to walk that twice to get there and back so 10 hours a day. I have no way of getting a bike. I have no way of getting a permit or drivers license or a car. This doesn't make sense why my parents get mad and this doesn't make sense why my friends treat me that way. I've rarely done anything in years because of this and I'm sick of people(parents/friends) getting mad at things i cannot change.

I hear your struggle and I'm sorry for not understanding this part. Why can't you get a bike or license?

Ask a family member to show you how? Ask a friend to show you how? A teacher?

Look up a manual online and study it and go take the test for your permit? If it's available online. I don't know? Does anyone have any other solutions?

Can you walk to the store and get a cheap bike?

It might be hard but don't let that defeat you. There might be a solution.

And to answer your original question, it isn't fair. You have done a lot for your friends, you say. A friend is supposed to help you and do nice things for you. If your parents are not helping you learn to drive that is absolutely not fair. How do they expect you to change anything if they don't show you how?

No drivers ed? Wow! I am in the UK and figured everywhere in the US did drivers ed.

Hmm.
So you are still at school? How do you get to and from school?
How do your parents get to work?
Can I ask your age?
I get that without a job, you can't run a car, or even buy a bike.

Since your parents are aware of the situation, what are their solutions.
I assume they have ideas of how you can get to a job despite living miles away from anywhere?

What are their suggestions?

I am afraid your friends are well within their rights to ask for gas money. Unless you have lent them cash and it's not been paid back, or you covered a work shift and they still owe you for that.
Outside of those size of favours, expecting someone to drive 15/30 miles out of their way without recompense isn't really fair.

Look it really does suck when you have no say in where you live.

Especially when you are so isolated. Unfortunately massively limits your options meaning you have to take what few options there are in order to open up others.

Is working with your folks a possibility?

What about local postal and delivery services, they often have a regular route in rural areas and are happy to provide lifts if it is on their route.

You have to start somewhere, why won't your parents teach you to drive? Or have they offered?

If your very rural are there jobs around the house and land they would be willing to pay you to do?

When there is a short supply of opportunities, sometimes we have to make our own.

Have you always lived in the sticks or is this a more recent thing?

All the best.

I have tried they always say we'd love to but never reply back as to when. I could see if it is. The stores are 5 hours from me(by foot) and I do not have any money at all for one currently

I do online school. My parents drive to their work.17 they have not had ideas I have asked them before if they could drive me to get one and they get mad and start yelling saying they can't. I don't think they are because I have had to give them things before, when they come over(just to hang out, not go anywhere), my parents give them food and they never even thank anyone and I have had to give them money a while back and they never repaid me even when asked. I could see if they are able to if it would be on their routes. They won't teach me because they say it is not their responsibility. Yes have always lived here
