When I was a kid, I got shamed and hurt emotionally by my mom and the kids at school a lot. It completely overwhelmed me and kicked my *****. There's been an ache in my gut ever since, and I'm scared to be in social situations, because I think I'm going to get nailed, and be totally vulnerable to it, and not know how to protect myself. I never learned when I was a kid, and now I'm back in school to become a teacher, and I really need to get over this. I don't want to be afraid of my students. Can anyone relate? If you got over it (or something like it), how did you do it?

I can relate to your situation and I am still scared in social situations. What I am doing to work on it is to put myself out there. I try new situations and I have had good results it is getting easier each time I enter a situation. I am sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

That's very helpful, thank you gimmeice. (hugs back)
I also got some advice in chat this morning, so I'm in good shape.

That's good that you found some solid advice in chat violet...

Like the great story of David and Goliath can teach us,,,there are few things in this world that can beat us,,,unless we let them...

As our lives are filled with Goliaths,,,so didn't great wisdom provide a plethora of suitable stones..

Find yours..they are often found within you...
