Hmmm...I'm quite pleased to see this. The spirituality of "the sensitive kind" is such that if it were not expressed or discussed they would eventually gravitate to somewhere it was. This is a VERY necessary part of our lives. To recognise this need on this board can only help those feeling this "void" in their lives.
Good job!

Dear Doc John.......

Can this involve helping a person that is having problems with IS GOD REAL OR NOT - for it is sure to bring up questions and comments from both sides of the fence and yet how is one to know unless they ask and listen to both sides?

Can one not discuss a topic of this kind without it having to become a debate just because all that post do not believe GOD is REAL?- is this not spiritual support as well, for one can believe in a higher power with out it having to be the God that most of know / hear of.

Thanks...

A big Universal yahoo to that reply to Zorah, Alexandra!!!

Respect for all of us for who we are ... which includes what we believe ... or don't believe ... and that our spirituality is as unique as each individual.

I look forward in participating in this forum. My spirituality runs very deep.

if people have issues as to whether God is real, they should look around, if there is a devil, there is certainly a God...has anyone seen the movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"? Awesome movie...true story, but a little special effects, but to the point, I liked that movie, because I know the evil that plagues us, comes to kill, steal and destroy...he decieved my parents and they followed him to their death...so NO ONE can tell me alot of suffering we have to endure, whether it be in ourself, our love ones, friends etc...is for nothing....one day it will end, only the strong will survive, only the ones who are willing to suffer for the right reasons, and stand in the gap, and take back what was stolen from them...I found God too late to help my own family...but now...I am angry that I wasn't taught that God was the good one...thank you all for speaking out no matter what people think of you...hugs

RIGHT ON. Well ...

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
1: of, relating to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit : incorporeal
2: of or relating to sacred matters

Religion, on the other hand, is a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

So this forum's main focus is to talk about spirituality, not specific religions.

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post">

Being inhabited has to do with the non-corporeal
It bes not limited to one specific religion -- all religions in fact or spiritual traditions acknowledge that this happens to people
So nobody ever better try to shut Malady down AGAIN. Or it bes comesy for you humans ..... *snarl* Welcome!

I am very interested in God and some of the things that have kept me from having a better relationship with Him. I would be very interested in belonging to a support group that would help with that or to talk about it more.
Thanks

IMO - the only thing that can heal you without any person or medicine is praying. Whatever religion you belong to you can contact with God.

It is my firm belief that to be well, it is important to take care of the whole self. To care for the self includes caring for the physical, mental, emotional and the spiritual parts of the self. By taking care of each of these parts of our selves, we do the least amount necessary to ensure our optimal health. And that is our obligation to our Maker.

Peace!

DBT is a type of therapy, short for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. It's a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approach with specific targets and skills taught, based on mindfulness (draws from zen and eastern meditation practices), as well as skills for interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

Anyone is welcome to check out the DBT social group if you are interested.

Thanks for the forum DocJohn!!!!!!!!
I wished would be something like that! I am still confused what's this forum about! Maybe I do not know enough English - I have to check first if a "prayer" is in English view only connected to religion and therefore not admitted here, even I might pray to the universe for someone's best!!
I found this for prayer "An act of communion with God, a god, or another object of worship, such as in devotion, confession, praise, or thanksgiving: One evening a week, the family would join together in prayer."

If a prayer is connected to religion and considered against "the spiritual" purpose of this Forum, i think that all I have studied in my life counts for nothing, and this Forum is too elevated for me! I am sorry to have to banish myself from a group/society that has this as a rule, because I believe in respecting the rules in which a society was formed in.

If not, who connects religion with that and do it to banish others should be excluded! Fair enough?

Gab (and anyone else interested),

I didn't see your original post, but want you to know that there is a private forum for those who would like to have freedom to post and discuss meaningfully about belief and faith, communion with God, etc. All who respect that and respect each other's beliefs are welcome there.

http://forums.psychcentral.com/group.php?groupid=2

Or PM me and I'll send you an invitation.

I fought spiritual abuse for 18 months. I was married for 31 years to an abuser and then got a divorce. I was voted out of membership (because I let the ex live in my house afterwards). My name was put up on a big screen, followed by the words: "Conduct Unbecoming a Child of God." Called to a meeting of deacons (not allowed to have a woman with me), and asked:"Are you still having sex with your ex?" The ex was never called to task. Something positive came from the debacle.....my poetry website which has over 17,000 hits.

Hugs, Sharon

Thank you DocJohn,

I ditto Radio_flyer's answer.

Hi everyone. I am new and still learning the icon faces and all the other stuff the ribbon that is above the Message writing page. The typing brings up words describing the icons and that computing thing is hard to fathom. Computer age is me learning a new language of the Geek and nerd worlds and so I have to become a part of them.

Thanks for being a part of my learning.

I'm so happy we have a forum for this topic of "Spirituality", but I find I'll have a problem because...to me..."Spirituality" and "Religion" can't be separated. I look at one just as I look at the other, how do I talk about "Spirituality" without speaking of religion because that's what it is to me. I have no idea what to say, without breaking some kind of rule for this group, so I am left here very confused.
Huggles,
She
