Hi ALL

Each one of us have talents and gifts despite of how hopeless and worthless u felt about urself. Some ppl are born genuis others is they need to discover their own talents and gifts and to rediscover themselves. Try as many or anything as possible when you have the chance to learn and to gain knowlegde This is what i discover. about my abilities , talents and gifts despite that am very poor in academic I fell mostly all the test in 2ndly and college and never been to University. But now I self-learning japanese, mandarin, spanish, and learn sign language from someone 4 FOC. I even self-learning playing organ, and even psy. plus Bible Study. besid3s that I love to study paranormal activities, weird stuff, extreme places, events and people.stars, moons and planets ( though not all ) mysteries stuff , being creative , and learn to be more creative. of anything or every single things see. try out new recipe. to enjoy urself eating and ur creativity. or learn typing , short hand etc etc whatever it is just LEARN and when especially its FOC or not that costly this will help u to improve ur self-esteem and confidence and USE them dont hide it USE it to the fullness. When U help others U R actually helping urself as Well.

yup but its also helps me to be outwardly focus despite that ppl tear u down emotionally saying that ur not good etc etc or even seeing ur condition it will affect ur self-esteem in one way or another wondering ohh can I do this can I do that? instead of being self-focus and when ur being self-focus that's where all the negative thoughts started forming into ur mind and affected u as well. I gone thru a lots before since young until now I have ppl telling me that ur stupid, bullying me, laugh bout me, talk bout me plus of what I have ( mental illnesses ) side-effects of the meds i tell u its really unbearable like "thorns in my Fresh" but what i did to prevent it to take control over me I discover and learn as much as possible and remember to put them into practice of what u discover and learnt. and its all beneficial to help me and others.

Yup but not all the time I would say becoz certain time im quite vulnerable and extremely out of focus. and very depressed. Everything will triggers if ur not careful. Though U can be as busy as a bee in order to get out all the neg thoughts and boast up ur self-esteem but everyone still need to rest coz we're not robots. Eventhough u suffer from manic or whatever u still need to rest.. And though u dont suffer from insanity or psychosis praise GOD and be grateful but plz mind ur words ya :P "Be all things to all men" and "Do to others just like how you want others do to you"

Whom can I serve?

Whose needs can I meet?
Where can I serve?
What can I give you?
Why are you doing that all by yourself?
Who needs something that I can give?
When do you need me?
Are you OK?
Can I get you something?

What’s common about all these questions? They are all seeking a way to serve without waiting to be asked. We were put on earth to make a contribution, but no assignments are given out. Part of serving is looking for and finding the need so you can do something about it before it becomes an issue.

A lot of this is in how we think. It’s all about becoming other-conscious versus self-conscious. Being self-conscious is what happens without any effort. It’s the natural human way of going about our lives. Becoming other-conscious is what happens with some effort and the Spirit of God to empower us.

We were not made to go at it alone. We were made to serve each other so that in community, we all get our needs met. It’s a little like saying, “I’ll scratch your back, and you scratch mine,” but more complicated in that we are all gifted to meet each other’s needs in different areas and different ways that only the Holy Spirit could arrange.

It’s the consciousness that is the key. That and the commitment that once we become aware of a need we can meet, we will immediately do something about it.

Peter told us to be eager to do good (1 Peter 3:13). It’s always been interesting to me that he didn’t tell us to go out and do good. He said to be eager to do good. That means we are consciously aware of opportunities to serve. If you weren’t thinking along these lines you might miss all kinds of opportunities to serve. But anyone who is eager to do something is looking for it.

If you’re eager to go fishing, you’re going to be looking for the next free day on your calendar. If you are eager to play tennis, you will be on the lookout for a suitable partner to play with. In the same way, if you are eager to do good, you will be keenly aware of opportunities to serve others as they arise. It’s all in our awareness.

You might want to go over the questions again at the beginning of this devotional and see if anyone comes to mind as you go through them. Then make a plan to reach out to that person in some way. And finally, think about how you can get into an other-conscious groove. Anticipate needs. Be eager to serve. Ask God to bring these things to mind at all times, that becoming aware of those around you might become a habit you just can’t shake!

R u my BC fren???? thanks for your email really appreciate it questions is good when you asked it will be given seek and you'll find and knock and the door will be opened . You must ask yourself this question r u serving GOD or serving ppl? But always remember that what ever little things that you do even "work" you're working for the LORD and serve HIM only suggest that you read this book called " The PURPOSE DRIVEN LiFe" _ WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR? by Rick Warren. Discovering your talents&gift is the first step where you can serve then understand and asked who am I serving? some ppl they serve serve serve but perhaps goes tired of doin it becoz its not your passion. But everything is possible in GOD's eyes!

Thanks for your reply , really appreciate that someone I sees someone whom into ur position or perhaps I felt that in fact that we are gifted in different areas your passion will not what u used to do right now if you felt tired or cant give anymore. My passion will not be ur passion and my talents and gift will not be urs perhaps though we did have the same talents and gifts maybe different "passion". Mmmm..... try to asked what you like to do how can u help others better? if you tried many type or figuring out what's prevent you from that now then asked yourselve "why" something pop out in my mind perhaps u just felt of doing the things u first like doing _ depressed perhaps well just a thought u know urself better my fren. Dont force urself but but a way out ok

Hello alittlehoshime.

I so appreciated reading this thread. I'll just say I'm over 30, married with kids, and I have always felt lost and confused in my life, sort of like I'm just floating along with the breeze, like there's some place I'm supposed to be but haven't found it. I recently left my job through an early retirement offer.I plan to use this time to figure out what I am really supposed to be doing (both personally and careerwise). One of my former coworkers gave "The Purpose Driven Life" to me as a gift. But I realise that I have been afraid to read it because of the questions quoted by mylife4him. Serving means closeness, and closeness has always been a major issue for me. I feel that I'm on the edge of a major life change and I know that answering those questions will be a huge part of figuring myself out. I guess I just want to say thanks for giving me a different way to look at my situation.

Hi there am glad that I be able to help in some way or another. Yup having or viewing something in different way to the positive way is very important despite the bad things happened in Life its crucial to have positive thinking. That's how I created GPP as a way to help myself - ( GOD , thru relationship with GOD, P_eople that u need one another to fight thru this journey scratching one's another back and P_ositive thinking ( taught by Sarine Tan one of my best fren in the Kingdom though she didn't explain how?but she gave me a thought where i can fill it all up) in others words be independant in this area and figure out of myself how to have positive thinking despite what's happened , as a "borderline" is definetly not easy ( a lots of things need to change ) and I do still struggles here and there that's how I combined all together of what I've learnt and put them into practice.

I must say, I, too have always had trust/closeness issues for most of my 53 years. Amazingly enough though, I have such peace when I do get close to Him...a peace and comfort that I have never before been able to accomplish on my own. My prayer is a thankful one... "for "I once was lost but now am found...."
I pray you find that same peace on your journey.

Thank you for your insight. I have read The Purpose driven Life about discovering our talents and our strenghts. I thought it was a great book. An even greater book I find wonderful comfort in is my Bible... yes, nothing is impossible with Him!

I resigned from a really great job to follow my husband who was posted in another town. I took up my role of full time mother, thing is that my children don't need me anymore so I find myself feeling lonely. My youngest is 16 and I feel that he is getting more and more independant too. Finally I decided to study french this year, I speak it fluently but my written work is terrible, I've started dance lessons and I've joined a Choir but I still get this feeling of emptiness even though I try to keep myself busy. I feel that the children and my husband have their lives and I'm just waiting for them to come home in the evening so I can start living again. Really strange feeling.

I know exactly how you feel. When the hubby's at work and kids are at school, I have the whole day to myself. After working outside of the home for just about my whole adult life, I don't know what to do. Housework can't be my whole life. I don't have advice to offer as I'm trying to figure things out, but I do understand.

Thanks for sharing ur feelings so sorry that I cant relate to you becoz am still single. And havent have a child..... mmm........ how bout ur family members your relatives , your parents are there living around ur area do you have close frens to talk to or neighbour ? while waiting for your husband and ur children to come home. I really felt its crucial to mix around with ppl even to have pet I really felt its a healing I have 3 beautiful dogs and I do play with them or write cards to encourage someone its really enlighten me. But dont forced urself everyone of us is different and special my way of coping may not be urs. Even sometimes despite of doing all these things I do feel extremely unmotivated tiredness spiritually mentally, emotioanally and physically when something triggers me that's where positive thinking came into picture. Its a constant battle that I need to fight currently am really struggle to go out to meet up with my christian frens becoz of halloween and during this period of time. I have a constant negative thoughts about those things but i've already shared it with my frens in the church. I did try to have positive thinking and tell all those voice to "shut up" and do something which is outwardly focus like online, i still go to church in the morning and on wednesday nite. today is a fruitful day to me that early in the morning I prayed, I tidy up my parent's and my bed , I do hse-work, I listened and dance, I play with my dogs, I make veges juice drink barley , I called someone and set time to pray on this wednesday and spend time Later if am well will write cards. But about those "thoughts" I really find it hard to get rid overall and felt fearful and I really missed my halloween celebration. sigh........... last time i really had a great time celebrating and won for best custume. hope this will not triggers u all

You can do a lots of things in life even impact ppl's life not just helping ourself. and how to live a meaningful life though this world is a falling world and i cant help to stop thinking to die fast and return where I once belong. but as long as am still alive I must use my life wisely as am striving its really not easy. together Fight the good Fight

I went to church this Sunday (something that I haven't done regularly in many years). Two of my sister-in-laws had been bugging me about going for ages. I felt uncomfortable about going by myself, but I went anyway. And I am so glad that I did. They had a guest speaker and the topic of his sermon: Finding God's Purpose for Your Life. He mentioned "The Purpose Driven Life" and I could not help but break into a huge grin (I feel like the other people in the church must have thought I was wierd or something--lol!!) I feel like I was meant to be there on that Sunday. But out of that sermon, I got these questions:

1. What does my life story say about my purpose in life?

2. What legacy do I want to leave after I'm gone?

3. What risks is God asking me to take? What difficulty must I go through to fulfill that purpose?

4. What distractions keep me from fulfilling that purpose?

5. What hard choices must I make to fulfill that purpose?

6. What is God asking me to trust Him with?

I will keep all of these in mind as I search.

Hi there am so proud of you for taking the first step to go back to church. Surely GOD's word is spoken everywhere we go and whoever we meet. And I can tell you that what you heard that very day is not a coincidence and accident its all being planned by GOD. But do it step by step coz GOD wants everyone of us and U to be "Happy" just like how HE wanted me to be happy as well. Thru good and especially the bad times its all meant for our growth despite things do happened of our health, family, the world etc etc....... . I would have died long time ago since during secondary or even childhood and now and then due to high tendencies of SI but so far I havent SI since 2nd sept until now. GOD has been very kind to me. That He put different ppl into my life. And kept on reaching out to me now even my church, my psy and pdocs been helping me just that at times am still fearful. Do not force urself too much but also DO not pampared yourself ya! ALL THe Best ALI (((((((((((((((ALI& ALL )))))))))))))))))) We fight together
