Friends,
As I shared last week, my husband quit his job. Last week we worked together to send some resumes out for him. Anyway the short story is will you pray for a new job for him, and for him to be cooperative and do some things around the house in the meantime? He just sat here today watching TV and smoking, until I finally had to ask him to go upstairs to watch TV so I could concentrate on getting ready for my classes. I can't wait for him to go to an employment agency tomorrow, who asked him to come in and speak to them and fill out an application. Right about now, I would like to dump him somewhere. EJ |

Ok, how about we try and turn things around, perspectively, that is? IF this were YOU who had quit your job...how would you be feeling? If you were used to your significant other always taking care of things, and you too... No, he needs to do better self care. Does he read? Let's find a good book for him to build his self-esteem with, and from a man's viewpoint, how to go ahead and succeed anyway! (Does he read the Bible?) ![]()

You bet... both of you in my prayers. Hang in there and trust that it will turn around for you. May he be blessed with a vision for where he wants to take this next phase of his life. Pray he gets a determination to take the next steps he needs to take with confidence and conviction.
Pray for you to know the peace amid the uncertainty. Take good care.... good to see you again. |

Sky, Bebop and Chocolatelover,
I truly appreciate all the insights, different ideas and prayers you are bringing to bear on my present situation. Historically husband tends to start to get revved up and driven 2 - 3 days after me. He's feeling pretty old right now at 67, and to make our finances work, he really needs to work for another two years. He refuses to move away from where we are currently living, which is out in the middle of nowhere, which makes finding suitable work all that much harder to do. Thanks to everyone for letting me whine. Hugs and thanks, EJ |

Hi Friends,
Today is a much better day. After the support I received here yesterday, I was able to make myself not pressure my husband today about his job search. I concentrated on catching up in the kitchen, and then paying some bills. I even made a dentist's appointment for me, so I can get my teeth cleaned before classes start. Now low and behold husband has jumped into action and has been working on cleaning the bathroom. He's a couple of days late, but who's counting. ![]() ![]() Thank you all for your support, and helping me to see things differently. Hugs, EJ |

EJ, "Timothy" is quite explicit about a man providing for his household. If he is a believer, perhaps by encouraging him that God wants him to continue and will assist him that will be enough?

Thank you to everyone who prayed for us.
Husband did get out to look for a job today. All of the good jobs are at least 70 miles from here, as our the job agencies. Anyway he went, and there are a couple of possibilities. I wish husband would listen to reason about moving closer to jobs, especially with the price of gasoline the way it is. Sigh... My "live" classes are starting tomorrow. Please pray for strength. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. EJ |

I always thought a good marriage entailed a 50-50 propostion. Why is your 50% less than his? And, since you are the one working, and he's the one needing a job... why can't you begin planning to sell and move? Yes, it's difficult but thousands of people do it every year (in spite of the "economy." ) ![]()
