i have been doing lots of thinking recently about guilt, forgiveness, healing. support off friends, family, a greater force than ourselves are all healing , i recently came across a saying from the buddhist tradition that has made the most sense to me -ultimately it is the love we give ourselves within the flow of mindful living that heals us of early deprivation, not the love offered by someone else.

Well said jefftele.

Love is an emotion that rises up within us. We can perceive that someone else is showing love toward us, but what we feel comes from within. If we have no love within us then we feel unloved, no matter how much others may actually love us.

The only limits to how much love you feel is how much you allow that emotion to flow within you. The more we love the more we feel loved.

Let the love flow healing

Certainly bears repeating! An "AHA!" moment for me. Is that called an epiphany? healing

Mindful living.... a transforming concept that has helped me deal with negative thinking and train my brain to mindfully listen and act from a place of self love and care.

I've just been reading .... "The MIndful Way through Depression". Its been a great guide for helping me to better understand and cope with my thinking and emotions. The book comes with a CD of guided meditations Jon-Kabat-Zinn. He's a pretty well known meditation teacher and has also written several books on the topic of mindfullness.

The authors define mindfullness as... "the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to things as they are." They go on to say..... Mindfullness means paying attention to things as they actually are in any given moment, however they are, rather than as we want them to be..... It is the exact antithesis tot he type of ruminative thinking that makes low mmods persist and return.... With an increased ability to sustain mindfullness, we can explore what happens when our emotions are allowed to come and go in awareness with a non-judgemental attitude and self-compassion. "

Learning how to be more mindful with my thinking has taught me how to mindfully express self-love for myself without counter analysis clicking in to tear me back down.

I hope you get as much from it as I have SeptemberMorn.... and the best part.... its not an expensive book. You know how some of those self help books can cost you an arm and a leg, well this one is just $19.95 including the CD.

Here's more info.... The MIndful Way through Depression, Freeing Yourself from Chronic Unhappiness, by Mark Williams, John Teasdale, Zindel Segal and Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is publised by the Guilford Press, 2007.

Enjoy.....
