I don't know why, but this morning I thought of my Spirit Animals. A Shaman I met years ago told me about the world of Shamanism, of Spirit Animals and I was told that my Spirit Animals are a bear and a lion.

I had written in another thread about how much adversity I've been through in my life, and how through lots of struggle and hardship, I've made it through to the other side.

Being a very spiritual person, I tend to and like to think that it's been with the help of my Lion and Bear Spirit Animals.

Here's a description:

Bear Spirit Animal

In the kingdom of spirit animals, the bear is emblematic of grounding forces and strength. This animal has been worshiped throughout time as a powerful totem, inspiring those who need it the courage to stand up against adversity. As a spirit animal in touch with the earth and the cycles of nature, it is a powerful guide to support physical and emotional healing.

Bear Meaning

The bear has several meanings that will inspire those who have this animal as totem:

• The primary meaning of the bear spirit animal is strength and confidence
• Standing against adversity; taking action and leadership
• The spirit of the the bear indicates it’s time for healing or using healing
abilities to help self or others
• The bear medicine emphasizes the importance of solitude, quiet time, rest
• The spirit of the bear provides strong grounding forces

The bear, a spirit animal symbolic of strength and courage

The spirit of the bear is a strong source of support in times of difficulty. It provides courage and a stable foundation to face challenges. When the bear shows up as a spirit guide in your life, it’s perhaps time to stand for your beliefs or your truth. This power animal will provide for support and strength.

The bear is also a guide to take leadership in your life or in other people’s lives. This animal is feared and admired for its strength. Its presence inspires respect. Its strength and powerful stature will inspire you to step into a leadership role in your life and take action without fear.

When you invoke the power of the bear totem, reflect on the qualities of inner strength, fearlessness, and confidence in yourself and how you can project them in your world.

Lion Spirit Animal

In the realm of spirit animals, the lion wins the prize for most relentless fighter in the face of life challenges. The lion spirit animal represents courage, strength in overcoming difficulties. The presence of this power animal could also mean that something “wild” or difficult to control is happening. As such, lions symbolizes emotions that are difficult to manage, such as anger or fear.

Lion Totem Meaning

The lion as a spirit animal or totem symbolizes:

• Strength, assertiveness, personal power
• A common meaning for the lion spirit animal is predatory feelings, such as anger, aggression directed at someone else or towards you
• Personal struggle to deal with these feelings
• Lion spirit animals warn about a threatening situation or event in your life

Lion spirit animal, symbol of personal strength and courage

The lion spirit animal is generally associated with a representation of personal strength. If the lion appears powerful to you, its presence as a spirit guide can be interpreted as a positive representation of your self-confidence or personal power. As such, lions point to qualities of strength, courage, assertiveness.

Lions are also animals who dominate other animals in nature. Remember as an example the expression “the lion, king of the jungle”. When a lion appears as your power animal, it could reflect your ability to lead others or tendency to dominate in relationships or at work.

Interesting stuff. I think I will absorb this more and look into it more. This speaks to me deeply on a personal and spiritual level, and it's something I want to learn more about.

Interesting. I don’t usually believe in stuff like this but I took online spirit animals and it turned out it’s a Bear for me. When I’ve read it, it matches me and how I am well ExCEPT it said bears like solitude and I really don’t but maybe it’s meant that I’d benefit from more solitude. Interesting

Oh wow, you got a bear too! Cool. Yeah, it IS pretty interesting when it matches who you are... well, mostly. Mine pretty much matches me. I do like my solitude but am a social creature as well. I often need solitude in order to regroup and rejuvenate.

Yeah, it's really interesting -- I match both the lion and bear.

I fully believe in this. Since last year, the Butterfly has been guiding me. Helping me to heal, teaching me self-love and helping me transform into the person I want to be.

Animals, insects and even plants, have so much to teach us. These are all such powerful animals. You can connect to them through meditation too.

I just saw this post, so I feel like I'm a little late to the party.
I have always seen my totem as the wolf. But I just took the "What is my spirit animal?" questionaire and it came up with the turtle. Who knew? I actually relate to it.

Turtle meaning:
The turtle totem wisdom teaches us about walking our path in peace and sticking to it with determination and serenity.

I have an oracle deck that has a beautiful turtle on one of the cards. Will have to go dig that deck out and have a look at it.
Thanks for this!

Love it! Interesting that your oracle deck has a turtle on one of the cards. How cool!

I've always believed in spirit animals, I tend to see a lot of butterflies around me often. Sometimes I feel like my spirit animal is a butterfly.
