This song keeps running through my mind. It started as my evening prayer and has continued through the night.
Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me.

EDIT: During my sleepless night, I struggled with a few things. Obviously, the Holy Spirit was convicting me about something. In other words, He was nudging me about some attitudes or behaviors that I need to change.
I'm putting this out here just in case someone else could benefit from the same passages. Most of my life, I have known how to recite these passages and I've even made use of them for myself and for exorting others. It's time to come back to them to glean something that I hadn't before. This time, they may mean something new to me at this point in my life. Gifts of the Holy Spirit: 1 Corinthians 12:1-13 Spiritual Gifts And now, dear brothers and sisters, I will write about the special abilities the Holy Spirit gives to each of us, for I must correct your misunderstandings about them. 2 You know that when you were still pagans you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols. 3 So I want you to know how to discern what is truly from God: No one speaking by the Spirit of God can curse Jesus, and no one is able to say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. 4 Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving. 6 There are different ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us. 7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another he gives the gift of special knowledge. 9 The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else he gives the power to heal the sick. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. One Body with Many Parts 12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ. 13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into Christ's body by one Spirit, and we have all received the same Spirit.

1 Corinthians 13
The Greatest Gift 1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I like your Scripture, but... I'm not sure just how to take in in context with what I've posted.
![]() TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO WILL READ THIS: I've been reading almost all of the postings in this forum and I'm really uncomfortable with what is going on. This is what I was struggling with the other night. It's not so much all of the different religions and phylosophies being posted as the wrongful testimony that us Christians are portraying. The greatest commandment given by our Lord was to Love one another as He loves us. We're certainly not showing that love. Even I, as a believer, feel condemned, critizised and held up to a Christian standard that in my heart I know is OFF... by other believers! Only by PM am I told that I'm usually always on the mark! Where is the public support in THAT when I'm left to sink or swim on my own? That's not Christian, IMO! It's no wonder Christianity is held up to such harsh scrutiny! BY NO MEANS am I saying that I've got it all correct, or that I am a better Christian than others! I'm holding myself up to my own standards and have found myself lacking as well! What's more, the Holy Spirit has found me lacking! That's EXACTLY why I couldn't sleep the other night! The Holy Spirit was convicting ME of MY errors! MY own Christian testimony was found lacking as well. I urge other Christians who are reading this to ask the Holy Spirit to convict them as well. We, as Christians, NEED to follow His urgings. We need to take a long, hard look at ourselves and see if we haven't taken our own detour of egotism, arrogance and self importance away from what the Holy Spirit would have us do. It's not "MY" point we need to be making, but that of the Holy Spirit! We need to ask ourselves and God "Lord, what would YOU have me do and say?" Christians, I urge you to listen to the song posted and use it as our prayer!

Thank you September.
I am not quite sure if I understand where you are coming from in a Christian point of view, although I was raised and still consider myself a Christian person. I always appreciate when someone speaks of the love of others and consequently, the tolerence of others too, I believe. P.S. ...If you didn't mean the post that way I took it, don't tell me ![]() ![]() Thanks again...and take care everyone! |

This is one point in which I'll have to lovingly and respectfull disagree with you on, Sky. As a Christian, I don't feel that my faith is being trashed, nor my beliefs. Yes, there are those that disagree with Jesus' teachings, with what God's Word says, but "trashed," no. What did Jesus do? He taught, He preached, He healed, He fed both spiritually and physically, but not once did he try to cram Himself down anyone's throat. He left it all up to those who heard Him and saw His deeds. It's called Free Will.
He rebuked the Pharasees, but as leaders of the church, they should have known better than to behave the way they did. They were too full of themselves; too proud, too boastful... hypocrites. The only time He showed His righteous anger was with the thieves and money changers who were defiling His Father's house of worship. ![]()
