Could you please pray for my co-worker's young son who has suffered a ruptured appendix. The road to recovery is expected to be very long and very unpredictable.

Could you also pray for all ER doctors out there......... that they not be too quick to make a diagnosis, and then close their minds to any other possibilities. A simple diagnosis of appendicitis was missed on 2 separate visits, due to the above actions, and not taking the time to order a simple blood test.

This little boy is very, very ill....... Please say a prayer for him, his family and doctors everywhere.

Thank you very much..

i will pray for you, the co-workers son, the doctors, their other patients, the field of medicine, the nurses and staff, the builders of the tools in the industry, their families... well, everyone ... may the Spirit of Kindness and Correctness guide your hands and thoughts.... may all doctors of medicine in all lands embrace the profoundness of their duties and may Spirit lead their minds towards the healing of all... i pray this in the name of goodness and kindness for all people in all lands... blessed are the healers....

A prayer request

They depend too readily on the triage nurse's dx. It's happened to me, too. Even if you tell the drs that they are looking for the wrong thing, they still take the triage nurse's word for it.

Dani, am praying for this little boy and his family. The drs need to be hit on the head with a 2X4! A prayer request

Sending up prayers for speedy recovery for this boy. May his parents have the strength they'll need during this time and the doctor's the knowledge to give him the best care!

Thank you to everyone for all your prayers.

I know KathyM, I am very upset about the fact that 2 or more Doctors missed a rather simple diagnosis. You know what they tell doctors... "Don't go looking for zebra's when it could just as easily be a horse". Yep, they missed a horse!

Because of the rupture and the amount of infection held in the sack (thank God), around the appendix, they are not able to do surgery or even insert a drainage tube. He had surgery on Friday to insert a pic line into the artery in the middle of his chest. He now has to have IV antibiotics 3 x a day for the next 4 weeks. Hopefully that will work to help clear up the majority of the infection, and then 2 to 3 months down the line they will be able to remove the appendix.

He is a very sick little boy, all for the want of a simple blood test. Your right KathyM, it makes me mad, really mad....... And then I get really sad too.

Thank you all, for praying for this little boy and please keep on praying!

thanks everyone

I will keep praying for him and his family

when my son had his out .It took 1 day to get scan ordered.
Then they did it. Sent us home as they had goofed
WHen I got home 1 hour and 45 minutes later((long drive ))
there was a call to get him to the closest hospital.
I took him to a little one 45 minutes away. ((by the way all this time i had kept his side packed in ice))
By the time we got there it was 11;30 at night. The dr in the er pressed on his side he did not yell. As he has a high tolerance to pain. ANd he has PDD , They forgot to tell him to say it hurt when they touched it,.So he did not. They sent him home . Told me to bring him back in morning to see surgen
Took him back in morning, By then he was very sick. Dr read scan and report. And sent hime right to OR. HAd they done it right at the first hospital . It never would have gone that far.
I agree goofing on this stuff is not acceptable.
Sorry I went on.
Hope it was ok

my prayers are with him
