Yeah, I just had something to share about anger.. I mean, most the time I am a very compassionate, decent person.. I go out of the way to help people if I can.. But if somebody hurts me.. Then it is like hell have no fury.. Is that normal for this illness ? Or is it a flaw that I have I need to work on ? Like pride, or narcissism, or all of the above ? Thanks for any input on the subject.. Peace

Well that can go two ways. It may be a personal struggle you have from things in your life or past. However, this illness is a form of bipolar which can give you mixed emotions and cause emotions to tip to extremes. A therapist is the best person to help you distinguish between the two. I had a lot of separation to understand seeing mine.

My mom says I have problems with my anger--lols--I don't seem to have a problem with it but those around me, well, I guess they do...seriously, I know what you mean. For me, it happens intermittently and seems to be sparked by the little things--it has no real pattern. So, therapy is a good way to go...try to find that pattern. D.

Hello, I have the depressive type of this illness. I, too, am pretty calm until I overload on noise or pretty much any stimulation. Too much and I explode. And I'm really not angry. I think it's part of the sickness.

I used to have anger issues about three years ago and I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2008. My anger would manifest itself by irrational screaming. I rarely get angry now. I do get upset, but I learned how to manage my anger. I learned how to live and let live. Anger is very self-destructive. I was much angrier when I was younger because I was the victim of a lot of abuse, so it made me an angry person. Therapy and medication has helped me a great deal. I try not to get angry anymore. I try to say my peace and then walk away. Anger can lead to violent situations and I want to avoid that. My brother has anger issues so I try not to deal with him. He's in therapy now though.

Yep, I agree with what you are saying blue.. I usually don't act on my anger.. I just notice it is there.. Being a Christian, that is something I would like to work through.. Anyway, Thanks for your post..
