Well, don't get arrested either.

Good, an allergy with an upside.

Somehow, I've been managing to bite my wrists/hands without recognizing it or anyone noticing. I even broke the skin on one of my fingers. Don't know how I managed because I was busy in the kitchen! Lol... Aye...

I'm bipolar 1, not sz, but I do have experience with similar situations- psychosis, feeling detached, unreal, etc.. If your meds aren't working properly- and it sounds like they might need tweaked- then call the psych ER. You may or may not need to go in, but a nurse can talk you through your feelings and help you with your coping techniques. Go ahead. I think you'll feel a bit better.

I do that too -- I chew the skin around my fingernails when I'm stressed. I don't even notice until I draw blood. I wonder if distracting would help -- probably not as you were in the kitchen!

Moose: Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Thankfully this episode has passed & I'm fairly certain it was stress related! I'm just happy-manic at the moment, especially since I got some support about my destructive/impulsive behaviour over in the other forum... But I think that next time, I'm going to have to do just that! That was probably the scariest psychotic episode I ever had. At least when I was just hallucinating or thinking weird things, I still had control over my cognition & identity!! Lol. I already have the emergency # pinned to my bulletin board so my boyfriend can call for me should I get really panicky/unable to express myself.

fish: Yeah!! I had no idea how I managed. I was busy taking out things to make for dinner, preparing vegetables, arranging pans... It made no sense whatsoever. I just winded up laughing at the sheer strangeness of it!

Is there a chance it was a cooking injury? I once chopped the tip off my finger without noticing because I was so unhappy.

They were definitely teethmarks. And OMG, that really sucks. The worst cooking accident I've been in is accidentally dumping boiling water all over my chest/stomach because I was making pasta while I was a bit too dizzy. Sigh!

That sounds pretty damned painful! I once dumped 20L of salad dressing down my front . . . not quite the same, but it was hilarious
