I don't know anything about them but it sounds good. Why not give it a try? Let us know how it works out.

So I need more information in order to break it down.

Maybe the two of you should start interacting more since you live fairly close to each other. Texting and conversation on the phone can't hurt.

Newtus you're just a little over an hour away from where I live. You are right, you do live out in the country. To do anything you would have to drive to a bigger city close by. I'm still researching though.......

OMG!!! You'd have to drive over to another city just to get some fast food! That's country living!
Thanks for this!

I have lived like that before Newtus, and I do know what you are talking about. It is even worse if the Winters are bad and prevent driving. Here in Montana I
lived in a town your size (600 people on a summer tourist day) and during Winter storms there is no getting out. Treacherous mountain passes and road conditions prevent travel. It is the most isolating imprisoned feeling. The people in the towns like that become weird, too.
It was like a Stephen King or Twilight Zone story come to life for me.

I really hope we can get you out of that isolation.

The Craigslist platonic section isn't that bad if you just reply to posted ads, I've never actually placed an ad so I don't know but your email is protected so you're safe unless you reply. But really just ignore those people and move to the next it sounds like what you're using is kind of like chat roulette.

exactly.

so far i found out this is NOT the place for someone like me. already dealing with depression and loneliness and god forbid schizophrenia. i walked outside at noon. quiet. its was quiet. like...apocalyptic quiet.

thing is i dont have the money or resources to move ive realized. and im not well enough i think idk.

Ok that actually looks OK albeit everyone in the pics is so young but then you are too. I think you might just have to go through a few people to get someone nice. It's sort of like craiglist that way in that you have to read through people wanting random hook ups and guys in the wrong section etc. I know I thought my therapist was crazy when she recommended it but I gave it a shot anyway mostly because I was desperate.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!! Newtus in my research this is what I've learned about the city that you live in. You are IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STICKS!!!! I can hardly believe what I learned. You are not kidding when you say there is nothing around you! You'd have to drive 15 to 20 minutes just to get to the next city which doesn't have very much either! I know that you already know about your city, but I'm going to type out here what I learned just so the others can read it. There is less than 700 people in your town. The only thing I could find in your town is a Post Office. There are NO hospitals or pharmacies, NO churches, NO banks or ATMs, NO dry cleaners, NO Elementary Schools, NO High Schools, NO Colleges or Universities, NO Library, NO parks, NO Bowling Centers, NO zoo, NO Casinos, NO golf courses, NO movie theaters, NO amusement parks, NO stadiums, NO museums, NO tourist attractions, NO shopping centers or malls, NO department stores, NO Dollar Stores, NO bookstores, NO public transit stations, NO hotels or motels, NO restaurants, fast food places, or bars, NO gas stations, and NO grocery stores!!!!!!!

I am just amazed!

Newtus I know you said that you cannot afford to move but I really think that you living out there where there is absolutely nothing around you is making you feel worse! I would bet that this type of isolation is causing a lot of your problems. This is not healthy for you. I really worry about you!

hah yep. not even the basic stuff.

theres two churches near me but they are so small. i think maybe 10 people attend. and they are ALL elderly. nothing wrong with that no. but dont think its like a modern day church. is what im saying.

the parks are pretty much all around. i means...its country. idk?

yea no gas stations and stores of ANY kind.

no police station. theres a fire station but its only made up of volunteers. a few people who i think live here or from other cities.

they are closing down the modern post office though. the original post office is a 10 x 10 shack.

i mean yea most people could not concieve of living here. they couldnt. you cant live here without going 2-3 towns over for basic living stuff. and then you gotta go further for entertainment. and stuff.

i lived here for...5 yrs...my dad moved me and him there after my parents divorced. this is all he could afford at that time.

Those two churches you speak of must be really, really small because I can't find them online when searching your city. And by park I mean like a picnic area with picnic tables set up and/or playground equipment set up for children. Nothing of that sort listed for your city. Heck the fire station you speak of wasn't even listed! I am amazed that people actually live in your city. I think that much isolation would drive me mad!!!

which having no fire dpt here so ambulances has caused issues.

when my dad got sick they flew in a helicopter to take him to a city 40 miles away from my location. and the ambulance takes a good awhile. not long. but long enough for concern.

Hey I totally get it, your dad is doing the best that he can do. As a single mom of 3 kids I can totally relate. Thank God my kids are getting older now and have jobs. My girls are 17 and 19. My son is 21. We're no where near rich but we get by barely!

I just really worry about you being out there like that and when your dad isn't there you don't have anyone to talk to. That makes me very sad!

yea they are really really really small. its so small the city next door is expanding their city (not fast enuf). and this town may not exist anymore. theyve been having problems with its zip codes. my zip code on my license is listed for a city thats 20 miles away. and weve been getting petitions to preserve the city because its being taken over. i think becuz its the oldest city in the county.
