And my illness is under control...I stay meds-compliant, because I don't ever want to be as sick as I was. I feel like I have a life now, a decent one that I did not have as a younger person...I have not been hospitalized in almost ten years(before getting on Seroquel, I was in and out of the hospital constantly)and I talk to my staff if I feel sad or have any type of concerns. I get around on my own and am doing well at the moment...so I really wonder why my PACT team still checks on me like every two weeks, and I have to see the psychiatrist monthly if I am as stable as my staff say I am? Is it because they're afraid that I still can decompensate quickly, maybe when I start menopause(I'm 46 now)..or is it that I recieve Medicare and SSDI benefits, and the law requires me to have close supervision because of my past history? Sorry if I go off on a tangent, I just wonder if my diagnosis has anything to do with the way my PACT team sees me?

I think you just have a very good over protective treatment team. "Better safe that sorry." , is a quote they are sticking on. You are very lucky to have such great people/treatment. Most have nothing or close to nothing or a Pdoc that is rude and does not know much. Talking to your team about it sounds like a good idea.

Kim, if you didn't see your pdoc every month or your staff you could have a set back, also in some states it's manditory to see pdoc that otten if you want your meds

I'm sure they are expensive, but perhaps Medicare would consider paying for it because they might save money if it turns out that you have been misdiagnosed or over-cared-for. I don't know how these things work, but I'm noticing that you've posted a lot of questions along these lines, and your POV seems very reasonable and articulate in my opinion.

To be honest, I found out much of what both my housing staff and PACT team do is required by the State, because of quality assurance, record-keeping, and also to prevent both providers and consumers from possibly abusing the system(the few dishonest people making things mandatory for everyone else who does NOT cheat the system)...and as far as 'large or luxury purchases' like cell phones or computers, they have to discuss such things before they let people buy those things if the housing staff keeps your money in a trust account because of the associated expenses.
