So I'm sure my T knows about this as I talk about it during sessions, but I'm pretty sure somebody, most likely the government and something else, is out to get me. They do things to disrupt my life and they gave my mom cancer as part of my punishment. I refuse to get my abilify in a shot because I don't trust what else they'll put in it and that'd give them the power to control me.
I have an 8hr eval coming up next week, but I don't think that will "show" anything about this. It might show my depression and different anxiety disorders, maybe personality disorder, but not this. Is this paranoia or delusional? Not schizophrenia right, because I don't see things that are not there. I mean I've seen a shadow type figure fly around in my room but that could be anything. I also have panic attacks when I sleep, and wake up feeling like I'm dying, and have seen myself sitting on my bed, but not feeling like I have a body. Sorry if I don't make sense. |

Heard of this?
Delusional disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Question...so there are multiple types of hallucination the visuals not everybody has...so have you ever heard anything not there people arguing next door when it later turns out no one was there etc? There are also cognitive effects with sz you don't even have to have hallucinations at all. So it's hard to conclusively rule it out based on a couple of paragraphs.

I was just asking for opinions, as I know nothing I say on here can magically give me a diagnosis. And yes I'm going to be honest on the eval, but I just don't see how coloring in circles on a test is going to help me any.

So there are all flavors of something called psychosis but there are arbitrary rules that make one disease vs the next in the dsm...given that you are having delusions you probably qualify for one of them and the questionnaire should be able to ID which one....even if it's not something defined they can give you psychosis NOS or now even mental illness NOS. The reality is there is no medical science marking the distinction between mental illnesses two people can get the same gene and one may end up bipolar and the other sz. Also the diagnoses aren't static and as you change and perhaps move to another doctor you're likely to get another opinion and another diagnosis. The main thing to realize is that delusions are a form of psychosis and what works for that best are antipsychotics...that's the main point of a diagnosis is knowing which drugs to treat you with and since you're already on abilify I'm not sure what filling in a bunch of circles is going to do either....it's not something I did because I was pretty obviously crazy so it wasn't needed.

Thanks for responses. I know I've been told I have bad depression, general anxiety, social anxiety. I know my T used the word psychosis and psychotic disorder NOS and stuff like that, guess she's just working on getting to the bottom of it. Meds and me are not good so far. Abilify and invega made me throw up, so they put me on something to help with nausea, however, those two don't seem to be doing anything. I'm on Cymbalta and hydroxyzine, and those two also are doing nothing for me. I hate it.
