Well, if you are getting up that early, can you go for a walk? I know its beautiful to be outside early in the morning. It kind of makes for a good day for some people.
Thanks for this!

Ok that sounds pretty decent--pdoc was only really worried when I dropped to half my baseline so 4-5 hours a night for a week or so and then it was like OK we need to deal with this. So I'm just going to say you have more energy and that's a good thing---also I don't know the seasons in Texas but for me in the spring I definitely start waking up earlier.

Maybe you could learn Tai Chi and go outside and do Tai Chi in the yard. It's so relaxing and peaceful and it's incredibly healthy. I used to take a Tai Chi class with my dad when he was still able to walk.

That's funny 30 years ago you couldn't go barefoot in the south without picking up hookworm or other beasties which have now been eradicated so since my parents grew up in the south my first thought when you suggested that was panic---its always been a luxury of the north. But just checked the CDC data less than 10 cases per year in the whole country.

o my LORD....

Sheesh...Newtus, just in case, put shoes on!

I grew up in New England and never knew this about the south.
All we ever worried about was stepping on a snake.
I love this kind of information. Really, very interesting.

Well, I'm a barefooter by nature. But, I wear shoes outside. Every time. Because when I was 10 years old I stepped on a pine needle and my foot got infected. It ballooned up and I had to wear a slipper. I can still feel the tingling pain when I think about it!

Yeah you know I was just thinking that my line of work(microbiology) is totally dependent on believing in things you can't actually see which is kind of the exact opposite of dealing with a hallucination where you have to not believe in something you can actually see....weird. But yeah the things you can't see will kill you the fastest...the other thing to worry about is ticks and poisonous spiders----my cousin got rocky mountain spotted fever from a tick and actually got bitten by a brown recluse in her condo...she tends to have pretty bad luck. She lives in Atlanta so I'm not sure if those two are regionally specific or not but I don't think I'd go barefoot down there.

Ticks with Lyme Dx are bad here. Infested actually but where I am they are just becoming a problem over the past few years. We were at one time too cold and high altitude but I guess they have migrated and ignored this reasoning.

Now snakes....growing up we always went barefoot and I seemed to forever step on them running around. Yea, I have scars. Mostly garter snakes though so it was harmless. Except for the one time with a copperhead. Now that hurt.

Stepping on rocks in a creek barefoot is dangerous too. Those rocks are sharp.

Ouch. That would have to hurt!

Why is it that here on Roll Call everyone is so peaceful and kind and loving to each other when other threads and social forums they are not?
So much fighting.....
I am so glad to be here and be accepted by all of you. This is a safe place to be.

we all know each other pretty well on here too. theres a select few that have been here some odd years so we are used to each other. plus i think sz people are more kind because of the stuff we go through beats us down so much. but there are mean sz people too. but on here its pretty peaceful.

Also, I think we take each other for our words. If someone says "I'm having this happen" we believe it. We don't try to judge the situation, or make something else out of it that it's not. That's what I feel, anyway.

Did you guys ever see that show with Matthew Perry called "Go On?" It was on only one season last year. I loved it, but it did so poorly and got canceled. It was about a guy who recently lost his wife, and he was going to this group therapy although he thought he didn't need it. The characters were kind of goofy and over the top, but really the heart of the message was "we all need someone." I really feel we're like that show. Everyone had their own something they were going through, and even if they didn't always agree they always supported each other...

Like they say, you belong here. It's too chaotic in the other forums.
