My dad disowned me and my sister because we didn't tell him that my brother is gay. He decided not to pay for my food or school. I had enough of these family problems and his paranoia so I told him that if he doesn't stop sulking soon, I will never speak to him again. He wont see my graduation pictures, my family, what I do, where I go, nothing. He didn't reply and did something that broke my trust with him completely and he was the most trusting and closest person to me in my life but I'm still partially anhedonic so what ever.

Cracking-that's cool that they honor u like that. Maybe the depression with lift.

Junk-I hope the shot helps.

Zerh-sorry about ur dad. I hope thinks work out.

Lily- I hope u get to feeling better

Sometimes-very nice gifts for ur dad.

Costello-nice to see u here.

Newt-ur very lucky to have ur dad. I hope u start to feel better soon.

My dad died when I was 4, so no celebrating here. Idk if I should have my son call his dad, I'm not sure. Just another day for me too.
Thanks for this!

Well my son says no, he won't call his dad. I really can't blame him. His father has never really been a dad and has done some immature things to him. I feel so bad for my son when it comes to his relationship with his dad.

The further I get from my last relapse the more I forget about how bad it was and the more I think I don't need meds. It creeps in more and more

How long have you been sick for....I was thinking this was early in your illness. After around six months to two years of no symptoms you can try tapering down or even off meds. I'm 8 months off now with no relapse...it's always a possibility though which is why I still have a pdoc monitoring me.

My first supposed full blown 'psychotic episode' was about 2-3 years ago and I've had more in between. I've only been diagnosed for about a year though but my psych said it started before but wasn't picked up. They're telling me I need to take them for at least 3 years to get me through uni, but I have a history of non-compliance. I'm glad youv managed so long without a relapse I hope it keeps up for you and you never have to deal with one again

Edit: might be two years I've been diagnosed sz actually, my concept of time isn't great

Oh ok I think I didn't know about the ones before your dx and thanks yes I hope I stay well also but it can be about five years before you're really in the clear after stopping meds so it's a long process.

Five years wow that is long. Why do they say 5 years is there a set process involved?

Well it's just that it can happen that way....most of the relapse that occurs will be within the first 6 months but there is still a high rate out to one year. Once you hit that things are much better but your chance of relapse is still higher than the normal population for five years out then you're back to the normal rate. They really haven't studied going off the meds too well there are only a handful of papers out there...

hey. i sorta slept off my paranoia. it went away but took many hours to go away. my medicine doesnt work like it used to. im taking 10mg a day and i used to fall asleep on 2-5mg pill. now it doesnt make me even tired (i sleep to pass time) or work real fast like it used to. im a little worried about that because it has the least amount of side effects than other meds and thats why i like it.

I had my puppy Zeke neutered on Friday. He's supposed to be on restrictions for 10 days. No jumping, running, or swimming. Avoid stairs.

Someone needs to tell him. He's just going wild here, jumping off and on the couch, running around the room, playing with Bridey. He accidentally knocked the water dish, and water went flying everywhere. Now he's running back and forth and throwing himself at the puddle and sliding across the room.

Yeah my sisters roommates dog got hit by a car and had major surgery and they had to lock him in a room for a while because he could die if he was jumping around. It sucked but he's healthy today because of it.
