Newtus, I do that too. I've done it since I was 9. I think it's an OCD thing...

I saw my pdoc today. I'm officially off zyprexa (yay!). My doctor prescribed Saphris, which you take by putting the pill under your tongue and letting it dissolve. It is supposedly black cherry flavored (grossest black cherries I've ever had, haha!) and as it dissolves it numbs your tongue. Based on this, I'm not sure how much I like it, lol. But if it manages my symptoms without causing weight gain, I'll be happy to take it everyday.

I'm doing slightly better. Yesterday and this morning were really rough. I was in so much emotional pain I could scarcely stand it. I was thinking about sui then, but I don't think I was in the state of mind to actually plan and execute anything (like the pun? ), so I was safe. My doctor didn't ask about suicidal thoughts and I didn't tell him, so I avoided even the possibility of going inpatient. After seeing my doctor, I feel better. I took a nap this afternoon and that helped.

I'm getting dinner with a friend tonight, and then we are going to see Annabelle. It's a film about a doll that is possessed by a demon. I'm a little worried that it will affect me negatively, given my recent thoughts that maybe Andrew is a demon. I mentioned last time that I didn't think he was possessing anyone, but now I'm not so sure. I mean, he had to get his physical body somewhere, right? I think I have to do the exorcism myself. I think I could do it, and maybe the movie will help me figure out what to do. That or I could call a Catholic priest; they do exorcisms all the time.

Thanks guys for listening to me. I know some of the thoughts I've been having are rather strange, and it is nice to have people to talk to about them who don't think I'm "crazy".

I thought there was a demon in my house when we first moved in. There was a strange demon-shaped mark on the wood floor in my room (which wasn't a hallucination; I can still see it) and the kitchen smelled like rotting flesh. But as I've come to like the house, I don't think there is a demon here anymore. I don't believe in ghosts.

I've been wondering the people I see and the shadows I see are really ghost/spirits. I use to see a little girl but I haven't seen her in a long time.

I've put on nearly 50 pounds in a year and a half since I've been on meds. Anyone had this much weight gain on meds? It's scary bad. I'm so unhealthy since I started seeing the pdocs again last year and taking meds. Going to go off the meds completely, going to reduce my depot starting next week. Thing is, I went for 6 years med free and happy, I can do that again right?

Based on how bad things have been does this seem like a bad idea? :/

I put on about 40 pounds while on Zyprexa. I've manage to lose 31 pounds while on metformin. Weight loss is possible on medication but it can be really hard. As for getting off the medication... I hope you're reducing your medication with the doctor.

Wow, I thought it was just me. I was on Zyprexa for a while, that's where I gained most of my weight. Do you find it harder to lose the weight even on the metformin?

Yeah I get an injection (depot) every three weeks so I'm going to go down to 100mg next week and then 50mg then nothing. I'd say I'll be talking to my doctor beforehand if he sees me but I know that's how they'd wean me off it anyway. I'm sure if I mention it to the nurse they'll let me see the doc.

Forgot to mention I'm getting dystonic reactions to it as well so it's another reason to come off it.

I think it's bad idea to go off completely right now but you are likely to lose weight on abilify, Geodon or Latuda....

you could also add metformin especially if you are prediabetic....

I may mention it to him about weight neutral meds alright. I can't go on abilify as I had a really bad reaction to that when I was younger, my jaw locked into place and it was very painful, I needed to go to the ER to get muscle relaxing injections to ease it. Lasted for hours.

Are there any of these meds available as depots (injections)? I'm generally not trusted with oral tablets.

Well, with the metformin I manage to lose 20 slowly but surely. Then my weight kind of stayed the same for quite a while. I manage to lose 11 pounds but that was mostly due to my anxiety on a rise and didn't eat much because of it but I'm hoping the weight stays off. I've made some changes with my diet.... I'm not eating as much fast food as I was while living with my ex. I've also been trying to walk more when I can.

Fair play to ya losing 20, that's awesome! It's definitely not easy, I've started walking quite a bit but my weight isn't budging.

Congratulations on the weight loss!

Seven weeks ago I couldn't run at all. Today I ran 3.1 miles. If I can do that, anyone can.

Thanks Chickenfoot! Maybe you can try to get on metformin to help with your weight? Only issue I really have with metformin is diarrhea.

Have you been taking your medication? You think the medication is making you sleepy?

Thanks Costello and congratulations on your 5k run! I've walked a few miles but I have never been able to keep a steady pace when I've tried to run.

I know when I start some meds it makes me sleepy for a few days. Maybe, if you've been starting and stopping, you're body isn't getting a chance to get used to the med. If you've been taking them solidly for a few weeks it could be the drink, you said you've been drinking for the past couple of days, you could be a lil hungover each day! All I do when I'm hungover is sleep!

Well taking both antipsychotics and alcohol can increase the effect on you such as making you more sleepy, dizzy and lightheaded.
