i hope my coworker texts me back soon. he wanted me to switch shifts with him on wednesday but i didnt respond to the text. now i would like to switch but he hasnt texted me back. i think hes prob asleep. but i am seeing T at 3 30 and have to be at work at 5. its a 30 min drive to work from T office. im neurotic about being late to anything. it stresses me out. if my coworker cant switch our shifts then i will have to bring my uniform to T and change before i leave.

i feel pretty anxious right now. i wish i could calm down some.

oh and im going to go look at an apartment at noon today. i hope its nice. its actually one that i can afford

Indeed, have fun checking it out!

Had an alright day here... just been playing a game & about to pop out to the shops with my Mum.

Trying to wean myself off cigarettes onto NRT stuff but it's hard. Currently on a patch & have smoked like 3 cigarettes worth today. (been smoking like 1/3rd of a cig instead of a whole one)

Some questions for schizophrenics and psychotics -

Do you find that your medication adequately addresses the voices in your head? If not, how do you cope with them? Was there ever a time when you did not hear voices, or when you heard voices but perceived them as your own?

Thank you for any replies.

Yes the meds work from 95-100% for me with better results of being on them longer. I didn't hear voices until I was 36... Before that and now I have my own Internal voice which is considered normal....

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. Went out last night and I'm hungover as hell, so staying in bed watching tv all day is a must

Very quiet around roll call lately, where is everyone?

It's been a while since I last posted on here. I can't remember why I stopped posting. Anyway, since I last posted on here I've OD'd twice on my medication on purpose. Now my medication doesn't seem to be working anymore. But I'm not going to tell my care coordinator because there's nothing wrong with me and pills aren't the answer. I'm just different to other people. I'm never alone because I have voices to listen to. That's pretty special. I don't care what other people think. I'm not letting that bother me anymore.

I suppose it's a busy time of year in real life! Especially in the US with Thanksgiving. Wish I didn't spend so much time at the computer. Have to get used to driving again (don't want to drive at night yet) so I can have some more freedom and get out more!

Yeah I'm not Great at driving either I kind of hate it here in the city except for public transit....wonder if that's common for people with psychosis? I almost want to start a poll....

But yeah where are our UK guys?

You called!

I don't drive but it has nothing to do with my psychosis. I live in the centre of town, so not like I have any need for a car. Perfectly happy relying on public transport for going further afield.

I drove a motorbike about 2 years ago and was grand. Trying to get used to it again after such a long break, I just need more confidence really, don't think it has anything to do with psychosis. Though for some reason when I do get and act 'funny' I generally want to go driving, my parents generally hide the keys if I'm acting strange. Also, I live in the country so the roads are very badly lit so driving at night takes some experience.

How's it going?

Here in the US you need a car regardless....the public transit just isn't that great....someone in my lab is from mexico and complains about it all the time and we're in chicago. I laugh because many cities don't even have bus service at all so I tell her we are one of the best places in the country....
